Immortality at the Inevitable Hour

Today, what can I say? I do not know. A great disaster happened in

America, and all over the world people are suffering for that. We

know man is mortal, that everything will come and go. When we get

this birth, death will also come for us. But death in this way, no

one can invite. Unpalatable death has happened. We cannot tolerate

it, but there is no other way; this is Kaliyuga. All irreligion will

be powerful. Actually, every religion has told us not to kill. But

there are these irreligious activities, as Kali is happening. We know

death will come one day, but unpalatable death is always more

painful, although it is unavoidable.

The shastra, the scriptures say this body we have got and it is going

along with us, but one day the body will come to the position of

death. Guru Maharaj quoted one English poem, "The boast of heraldry,

the pomp of power, all that beauty, all that wealth e'er gave, awaits

alike the inevitable hour, the paths of glory lead but to the grave."

This is the world situation. We know it will be and it is happening.

We are very unhappy with this situation but it is the "inevitable

hour."

 

Then, we must be attentive to such immortality. Immortality is only

existing within Krishna [God] Consciousness. The scriptures say there

is no other way without thinking about Krishna, without hearing about

Krishna. We will get death or happiness, anything. Then, all is

natural here, yes, but it is very temporary. This life is uncertain;

we do not know when we will die. Everyone is very happy with this

body but within a second, it can leave. This is our situation. Then,

we will not depend upon this material situation. We will try to

search for Sri Krishna and immortality. If we get that transcendental

connection, then we will not be disturbed with all circumstances. It

is very clear for us that one day death will come for me; that day,

which day, I do not know. Then immediately we will try to get a

solution, and the solution is to connect with the transcendental

world.

 

Anyway, we will be happy with that. So many births and so many deaths

have come to us previously. So many species we have been through due

to our karma, but in this life we have fortunately got birth as a

human. The human body has so many good qualities and within it we can

realize properly, if we try. That proper realization will give us

immortality if we try to search for Sri Krishna, who is the emporium

of all beautiful relationships, rasa. That transcendental abode will

give us real happiness.

 

Here, we can make anything, but for us, that is very temporary. Now

this situation is once again proof, and there will also be proof

again and again. So many disasters, as the present example, will come

in front of us. Then, as much as possible, we will be careful for

this life and will try to proceed in the transcendental way. That

transcendental way is existing within this age in the form of, and we

will get transcendence through the Hare Krishna mahamantra. Everyone

will try to take the Holy Name of Krishna and surrender to Krishna.

Whatever circumstance will come in front of us, we must tolerate.

Without tolerance, there is no other way. We are very unhappy with

this world situation, but we cannot do anything because it is

Kaliyuga.

 

Our scriptures said: harer nama harer nama harer namaiva kevalam,

kalau nasty eva nasty eva nasty eva gaitr anyatha. This way we will

try to connect with our eternal life.

 

My language is not coming at this time. What can I say? I want to

express so much, but I cannot express anything. My goodwill, my

blessings and everything go in favor of everyone. This is my prayer

to Lord Krishna.
