Can anyone please help my friends?

May all our relatives be safe and secure and get sufficient help with that.

May all our relatives be happy at heart and get sufficient help with that.

May all our relatives prevent and abandon doings that lead to someones

downfall and get sufficient help with that.

May all our relatives raise and develop doings that lead to the highest

blessings and get sufficient help with that.

May all our relatives raise and develop doings that lead to a noble

maintenance and support of the sense-mediums the khanddhas, the hindrances,

suffering and everything that dependently arises and get sufficient help

with that.

May all our relatives raise and develop bodhipakkiya dhamma with its

requisite conditions and get sufficient help with that.

May all our relatives express shame and fear of wrong-doings a lot and in a

noble way and get sufficient help with that.

May all our relatives share their merit with all beings and get sufficient

help with that.

When I was younger I used to get into a lot of trouble often. There were

more periods of time that I was to leave the house of my parents and live

somewhere else for a while.

One of these periods was with a religious family that lived in the

neighbourhood. They were gereformeerd. They fed me, gave me shelter and

encouraged me to study. They even try to lock me up so I didn’t run

away. I think that their encouragement was very beneficial to getting a

degree.

Itivuttaka 26.

This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, so I have heard: "If

beings knew, as I know, the results of giving & sharing, they would not eat

without have given, nor would the stain of selfishness overcome their

minds. Even if it were their last bite, their last mouthful, they would not

eat without having shared, if there were someone to receive their gift. But

because beings do not know, as I know, the results of giving & sharing,

they eat without have given. The stain of selfishness overcomes their

minds."

This is the meaning of what the Blessed One said and in regard to this was

it said;

If beings knew

what the Great Seer said,

how the result of sharing

has such great fruit,

then, subduing the stain of selfishness

with brightened awareness,

they'd give in season

to the noble ones,

where a gift bears great fruit.

Having given food

as an offering

to those worthy of offerings,

many donors, when they pass away from here,

the human state,

go

to heaven.

They, having gone there

to heaven,

rejoice,

enjoying sensual pleasures.

Unselfish, they

partake of the result

of sharing.

Read an alternate translation by John D. Ireland.

This too is the meaning of what the Blessed One said, so I have heard.

When I was younger, I went with them to bible-class in their church. I am

confinced that some of my persistance is the result of their presence, and

most of all efforts and patience that they used to have with me. They were

an example of how to take faith seriously.

Itivuttaka 17.

This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, so I have heard:

"With regard to external factors, I don't envision any other single factor

like friendship with admirable people as doing so much for a monk in

training, who has not attained the goal but remains intent on the

unexcelled rest from the yoke. A monk who is a friend with admirable people

abandons what is unskillful and develops what is skillful."

This is what the Blessed One said and in regard to this was it said;

A monk who is a friend

to admirable people

-- who's reverential, respectful,

doing what his friends advise --

mindful, alert,

attains step by step

the ending of all fetters.

This too is the meaning of what the Blessed One said, so I have heard.

Unfortunatly they run out of merit and I speculate that their faith has

become an emotional burden. I am afraid that it ruins all their selfrespect

and selfesteem. Now was I thinking to select all merit from the bible and

sent them that as an way to go to heaven anyway, but I am afraid that it

doesn’t mention dependent coarising, which ensures the going to

heaven.

When I come to think of them, they are not the only ones who became

disillusioned by their faith. I met a moslim, a hindu, an probebly

buddhists too, but because of the virtue of non-diversive speech I

can’t do a thing. Not to mention that it would be pure speculation!!

So I would like to ask a meeting of the Arahants for all of them; please

treat them with great care and gentle and kind. I think that they miss

that. This request, I hope, will be supported with a gift, a

virtuerecollection and a loving mind.

(They used to be the very heart of the religion in this country). I am also

reminded that I perhaps ruined my grandmothers faith like that as well.

Maybe even my grandfather died as a consequence of that.

It reminds me of a scene of the movie “A few good man”. Jack

Nickelson is at a court and questioned by a lawer. ‘I want the

truth’; the lawer shouts. Jack Nickolson gets agitated and replies;

“You don’t know how to handle the truth!” …

… …

As a psychiatric patient or a person with a sick mind I confess many

weaknesses in all of the above.

May all beings be well and secure and get sufficient help with that.

May all beings be happy at heart and get sufficient help with that.

May all beings prevent and abandon doings that lead to someones downfall

and get sufficient help with that.

May all beings raise and develop doings that lead to the highest blessings

and get sufficient help with that.

May all beings raise and develop doings that lead to a noble maintenance

and support of the sense-mediums, the khanddha’s, the hindrances,

suffering and everything that dependenly arises and get sufficient help

with that.

May all beings raise and develop bodhipakkiya dhamma with its requisite

conditions and get sufficient help with that.

May all beings express shame and fear of wrong-doings a lot and in a noble

way and get sufficient help with that.

May all beings share their merit with all beings and get sufficient help

with that.
