Guest guest
Members- Raman makes somenice points about the lords of upachaya houses, the lords of the 3rd, 6th and the 11th. The 10th is also an upachaya, but it functions more as a quadrant. >From Hindu Predictive Astrology, the chapter called Judgement of a Horoscope: " Lords ofthe 3rd, 6th and the 11th play an important part in causing debts, diseases, and ill-health. The best feature in a horoscope would be that those lords of the 3rd, 6th and 11th remain isolated and unassociated with any other planet. The lord of the third causes debts and diseases in a sudden spurt; ill-timed courage and a head- long spirit work much in the native. Egotism and misanthropy are marked by the lord of the 6th, who has special control over debts and diseases. Anarchic qualities would result if the lord of the 11th is very powerful. Delicate circumstances involving life and honor and debts and diseases can be overcome but for Mars andSaturn who, if they occupy unfriendly signs, give rise to excess of evil." These are some special insights which Dr. Raman passes along. For example, he tells us that all of the upachaya lords can cause debt anddisease, not justthesixth lord. usually, people don'tunderstand things that way. They think that just the sixth and Saturn are causative of disease. Those comments about the third lord making one impulsive are special, too. First learn the indications in relation to the birth chart, thengo detail-mongering into the divisional charts, known as harmonics in the West. In How to Judge a Horoscope, Raman sets out just how to interpret taking into consideration all the different indicators with their proper weight and proportion.
