Guest guest
Many people have heard that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi let the Beatles down by flirting with Mia Farrow. These accusations led to both John Lennon and George Harrison to dismiss the Maharishi as a Cheater. It was at this point that John Lennon wrote the song "Sexy Sadie." According to George Harrison, John originally called the song,"Maharishi, Maharishi What Have You Done." But George convinced John to change the title to "Sexy Sadie, what have you done." Though both Beatles left disappointed, it now turns out that Maharishi was innocent of the charge.Thank God for George's foresight. In Paul Mcartney's biography, called "Paul McCartney : Many Years from Now" Paul says that a Greek character named Alex Mardis? was accepted as by John as "The Beatle's Guru." But after the Beatles met Maharishi, Alex's Guruship was threatened. When the Beatles went with Maharishi to India, Alex, burning with envy went there and began instigating to separate Maharishi from the Beatles. It was Alex's accusations and conspiratorial activities that turned the Beatles against the Maharishi. Alex was later exposed as a fraud. In Paul's own words,"It turned out that Alex had a subscription to Scientific American and we didn't, so he was able to wow us with common knowledge." His scam was exposed when the studio he built for the Beatles didn't work and they were forced to rebuild it from scratch. It is also interesting to note that Alex claimed to be closely connected to Greek Intelligence Agencies, a step away from the CIA. So after all these years, it is high time that these false accusations are exposed. According to Paul Mcartney,( who never was nor is a follower) Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was innocent and was set up by an envious false guru named Alex. For all the Hare Krishna devotees, I want to add that I met a very nice Prabhupad disciple who used to be one of Maharishi's chief followers. He went to Maharishi and told him he just wasn't satisfied with TM. Maharishi laughed and said'"Go to Bhaktivedanta Swami. He will show you the way, through the path of Bhakti." (Not an exact quote.) So lets stop our internal Vedic criticisms and appreciate each other's positions within the culture. Out of His Love, Krishna provides the perfect connection to everyone, according to their ability and interests. As a child in Iskcon Gurukul I was taught to belittle and criticise everyone who wasn't a member of Iskcon. However by the Grace of Krishna and Prabhupada, I have seen the light. Halelujah. Hare Krishna.
