Guest guest
Pranam!! Prabhupada ki jay!!!!! I looking for answer: According to Jiva Goswami Lord Buddha appears when two thousand years of the Kali age have passed :- tatah iti ayam kaler abda-sahasra-dvitiye gate vyaktah. ( Krsna-sandarabha Vol I anucchedad 24) that means 1000 yeras B. C.And in the firts reconstruction of Hindu Chronology by Sri William Jones, there are two dates, one of Years from 1788 A. D. and other of dates and Lord Buddha is appointed for 1027 B.C. ( Vid. in Rational "Mythology", By Sada Puta das, 1993 in BTG Jan/Feb 1994 p. 26.) But one researcher, Prasada Gokhale, of Fredericton New Brunswick University show very interesting evidences that after, the identification of Sandracottus (325 B. C.) mentioned by Meghastenes, the Greek historian, with the Chandragupta Murya by Sri William Jones was considered the "Sheet anchor" and base on this assumption, a chronology of India history was reconstructed by dated the Buddha in 500 B. C., under the presupposition that the Asokavarna was the Buddhist converted; but there are difficulties in this datation, because the Greek records mention Xandramas and Sandracyptus as kings inmediataly before and after Sandracottus. These names in any way are not phonologically similar to Mahapadma Nanda and Bindusar or Asokam who were the predecessor and successor of Chandragupta Maurya, respectively. However, if Sandracottus refers to Chandrgaupta Gupta, the Xandramas reckons to be his predecessor ¨Chandrashee alias Chandramas and Sandrocyptus to be Samudragupta. The phonetic similarity becomes quite apparent and also, with the assistance of other evidence from (Bhagavata Purana 12.1.12-13), confirm the identify of Sandrocottus to Chandragupta Gupta. (Vid. Antiquity and Continuity of Indian History in http: www.egrups.com/docvault/vediculture. or ask to Vrindavan das vediculture) But the cuestion is, what is the more accurate datation of Lord Buddha? because, there are apparent historical, astronomical and archaeological evidences that Lord Buddha was on the earth in 1887- 1807 B. C. (idem. part 5 14.) Ys. Hare Krishna das
