Guest guest
Gordha massacre probes foreign link New Delhi, Feb 28 Defence Minister George Fernandes Thursday said the investigations into Wednesday's train arson at Godhra would focus on whether there was any outside hand in the incident. Observing that the ISI was always active in spreading communal discord in India, Fernandes said, "The armed forces had been deployed near the borders and the nation had to be alert if it was part of some design to create communal riots in the country. This angle needs to be probed". Talking to a private TV channel here Thursday, he said this trend was evident in a number of attacks on churches in south India. There were attempts to implicate unconcerned organisations in the rape of nuns in Madhya Pradesh when the culprits were from within the community. Fernandes, who is also Convenor of the National Democratic Alliance, ruled out the possibilty of the NDA breaking up on the Ayodhya issue.
