Guest guest
Namaskar Mitra, Whenever I have met foreigners or the English educated elite of India they say ' India is a complex country, it has so many languages and dialects'. Their words have always foxed me, are we so complex?. And the recent controversy on learning of Sanskrit. I remember Barkha Dutt of Star News asking a Punjabi Sardar women whether she would learn Sanskrit. Obviously the innocent lady saw no connection between modern day Punjabi and Sanskrit. Recent events goaded me to reading about the origin of Indian languages and the Central Idea behind them. Having read about seven Indian languages I realized the impact of Sanskrit on them. What is Life without sharing? Knowledge and Wealth is what we shall leave behind, it is only our Karmas that we will take on our next journey. Here are the first three articles on Indian languages. 1. Sanskrit - The article starts with the words of Sri Aurobindo on why must we know Sanskrit followed by an ' Introduction on Development of Indian languages by Shri K M Munshi' and Scientific Literature in Sanskrit after which follows the development of language and literature over 11 periods starting from the Vedic period to 1947. http://esamskriti.com/html/new_inside.asp?cat_name=cultphil&cid=499&sid=9000 2. Hindi - The article starts with the development of regional Prakrits 500 a.d. followed by Modern day Regional languages 1000 a.d., developments in Hindi from 1300 to 1947 and lastly the Scripts in use in India. http://esamskriti.com/html/new_inside.asp?cat_name=cultphil&cid=513&sid=9001 3. Punjabi - The article tells you its origin and growth and its development from 1300 to 1947 a.d. It covers the Pre-Nanak period, compilation of Adi-Granth Sahib, how sayings of certain Sufi saints got into the Holy Book and writings of my hero Guru Govind Singhji. http://esamskriti.com/html/new_inside.asp?cat_name=cultphil&cid=523&sid=9003 Happy Reading, With Prem and Om sanjeev Discover your Indian Roots at - http://www.esamskriti.comLong Live Sanathan / Kshatriya Dharam.Generate Positive Vibrations lifelong worldwide.Aap ka din mangalmaya rahe or Shubh dinam astu or Have a Nice DayUnity preceedes Strength Synchronize your efforts, avoid duplication.THINK, ACT, INFLUENCEShare the Wealth, to Un write back.
