Guest guest
I have just begun the chanting and meditation process on the advice of my M.D., who says I must do something for stress. I have chosen this non-drug way of relieving stress. I am Christian and searched the web to find meditation guides. I did not find any. Meditation to them is an essay. I need to meditate. Any suggestions or sources? My business partner is Krishna and gave me a set of neem beads to use in my chanting. In addtion to the chanting, I want to meditate. Are these two processes the same? Do they achieve the same results? Thank you for all your help. F. Connor Cason, M.Ed. Dear Conner,] I have just begun the chanting and meditation process on the advice of my M.D., who says I must do something for stress. I have chosen this non-drug way of relieving stress. It seems you made the correct decision. Dr.Herbert Benson recommends meditation-start with 5 -10 minutes in the morning and evening. In addtion to the chanting, I want to meditate. the chanting is meditation-there are other types of meditation. the chanting has relieved stress symptoms--choose a mantra- govinda Hare gopala Hare he prabhu dina diyala hare- it a good one...they are names of the Lord in Sanskrit.. good luck...keep in touch a simpler mantra is Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare... use the beads to keep track instead of a watch...let your Krishna friend show you how to chant one "round"--try to chant 2 rounds in the AM and two in the PM... your Krishna friend can make sure you pronounce the mantra correctly. good luck-give it a few months...it works Michael Mantra Meditation box 273402 Houston, Texas 77277 Harness the Power of Sound http://www.geocities.com/Athens/8612 or http://come.to/mantramed meditation aides:
