New Books Available from GOKUL

Many of you have already responded to the new titles by Srila Bhakti Ballabh

Tirtha Maharaj that came out earlier this year, "A Taste of Transcendence" and

"Sages of Ancient India". GOKUL also now has limited supplies of "Sri

Chaitanya: His Life and Associates" by Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Maharaj,

published by Mandala Media. An absolute classic of unsurpassed beauty and

literary scope, this very special volume is the definitive chronicle of the

holy lives of an entire lineage of Vaishnava spiritual leaders, from the tenth

century to the present day. Utilizing a vast range of contemporaneous

historical and biographical sources, this most important work brings the reader

to a deeper understanding of the saintly personality of Sri Krishna Chaitanya

Mahaprabhu, as well as other great contributors to the Vaishnava faith, such as

Jayadeva, Nityananda Prabhu, Advaitacharya, Narottam das Thakur, Vishvanath

Chakravarti Thakur, Haridas Thakur, Vamsi das Babaji and too many others to

mention. The reader is also provided with esoteric insights into the intimate

nature of the devotional relationships that exist between the generations of

gurus and disciples throughout the centuries. Translated from the original

Bengali, this book is a "must read" for all students of Vaishnava or Vedic

traditions. Beautifully illustrated, this very substantial hardbound volume

(12" X 8.5" X 1.25", nearly 2kg [5 lbs] in weight) includes a unique glossy

poster on the inside dust jacket, chronicling the eternal identities of the

Vaishnavas in both Gauda and Krishna lila.

295 pages, embossed cover, hardbound w/dust jacket. £25 UK/ $50 USD outside UK.

Prices include postage paid worldwide. To order this item, or other books and

CD's from GOKUL, kindly visit

Thakur. You can read samples from several of these titles and hear audio clips

from the CD's on the GOKUL site. http://www.gokul.org
