HOW 3,000 GROUPS OF YOGIC FLYERS WILL STOP GLOBAL TERRORISM AND WAR

If violence begets violence, can peace beget peace - and end global terrorism

and war?

"Yes, absolutely," says His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the

worldwide Transcendental Meditation organisation. "And we have 50 years of

experience, extensive scientific research, and the most recent discoveries of

science to prove that it can."

Perhaps more importantly, considering the violence escalating in the world

today, Maharishi has launched a bold plan to put the research and theory into

practice on a global scale - and create world peace. Maharishi is establishing

3,000 Peace Palaces, one in each of the world's largest 3,000 cities, including

51 in the UK, to serve as "lighthouses of coherence". In each Peace Palace a

group of 100-200 people will practise Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying

to eliminate acute social stress - which fuels violence, crime and war - and

promote harmony and peace for the world.

Maharishi says the logic for the plan is simple: "World peace rests on

individual peace - there is no other way. It is very dangerous for government

leaders to think that weapons of destruction will ever create peace. These

weapons produce exactly what their name says they produce - destruction."

On Wednesday, 7 August, Maharishi will hold a global news conference to answer

questions about his plan to create world peace and explain the mechanics of how

Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying can reduce stress and produce peace

in the individual and in the whole world.
