Guest guest
Dear magickool777, You are asking for experiences of eastern deities. It is important to note that deities from VEDAS are not simply Gods drawn up by human imaginations – they represent the general Laws of Nature in individualistic form. The Veda is as universal as science, useful for all men and true for all times. It must be understood in its eternal freshness and vitality. It must not be put in the basket of any religion. As pure knowledge, it is the eternal source of all activity, and as such, stands as the universal basis of all traditions. Like the roots of a tree which always support new branches growing in all directions, the Veda offers vitality to all branches of knowledge and activity. At the same time, the ancient Veda provides formulas for the full development of consciousness. The growth of higher states of consciousness experienced in the lives of millions of people around the world practising the Transcendental Meditation technique of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is validated by the scientific research confirming that this growth enriches all areas of human life. Experiences of the finer levels of existence are often accompanied by the encounters with the Devas. One of the most popular deities of Rig Veda is SOMA. Soma is said to be the glue of the universe – it maintains the eternal continuum of pure existence, the field of pure potentiality, the unmanifest absolute state of life. Soma can be understood as something like a fluid substance or impulse of creative intelligence which connects body and mind, physical existence and consciousness. It is the flow of pure Soma that organizes perfect functioning of body and mind resulting in higher states of consciousness. That in itself is the basis of a problem-free society and world peace. Here just a couple of meditation reports “I began to experience SOMA as a milk-white substance pouring down as a torrential waterfall or falling like drops in a pool. I saw SOMA sparkling like the sun over water, heard the loud roaring hum of SOMA during sleep, and tasted the sweet, mild taste of SOMA during meditation. “This visualization of SOMA gave way more and more to the experience of SOMA as wholeness – totally unbounded and fulfilling. It was my self, infinite and eternal, containing everything and contained in everything in the universe. I was filled with such an intense love for everything and everyone, and as I put my attention on one person after another I discovered that the reason I loved them so much was because they were my Self. “SOMA began to flow while I was working. And lying down after work I would feel my body like a porous sieve with SOMA flooding through me, tinting my awareness with pure purple, green, and gold. I felt SOMA pressing out wholeness through my back, and upon rising from meditation I would see lively bits of golden SOMA filling the entire room. “Wholeness persisted in and out of meditation, as if there were no difference between meditation and activity. I felt a great love for everyone. During sleep I was absorbed in pure white light, and it was sometimes difficult to distinguish waking from sleep, as they were both underlined by the continuum of the Self. … Even the noises of the construction outside seemed to be coming from myself – enlivening the Self with waves of bliss. I experienced fulfilment of desires, and everything I’d be wanting during the course became readily available. –C.S., Michigan, USA published in “Achievements – the Year of Ideal Society”, 1977, by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi “Following the first SOMA experiences I have noticed a huge change in my everyday awareness. I really understand the phrase ‘frictionless flow’ of awareness on the level of my experience. For about two weeks I was able to focus intensely and think with incredible efficiency, no wasted thoughts. I also found myself spontaneously doing the highest first.” --M. C., Maine, USA published in “Creating an Ideal Society – a Global Undertaking”, 1976, by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi “A very nice change which has taken place is an unbroken intimacy between my Self and the environment. It is a sort of liveliness of Self, rather than flatness, which I experience in everything around me. The continuum of Self within myself and outside of me just seems to have a very enjoyable, lively, intimate quality – as if my Self is smiling and radiating everywhere. For the first time I feel concretely, tangibly clearer and closer to all that is meant by God, to all that He is. “I feel a very solid stability and invincible strength growing in my life. … My favorite companion is the bliss and silence of my Self which is growing by leaps and bounds and spilling into the relative. … “One experience I could briefly mention – it is nothing flashy, but it is consistent and enjoyable, and it occurs very frequently. It is of being completely enveloped in an indescribable, soft, divine gentleness. It embraces me outside and is lively within me. I feel I am that indescribable thing, so enormously wonderful, beyond intellectual description, so complete, so lively with pure love. I call it God – because that is just what comes to mind when I experience it. I feel infinitely protected and cared for.” --M.H., California, USA published in “Creating an Ideal Society – a Global Undertaking”, 1976, by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi With best wishes, Shaasa DiXVad Revonoc" Message: 1 > Wed, 09 Oct 2002 00:34:47 -0000 > "DiXVad Revonoc" > Profound experiences sought to be shared regarding Dieties! > I am an avid scholar of world cultures and customs, > particularly those of religious or paranormal significance. > I would be interested in hearing any or all true-to-life > experiences from individuals in this group pertaining to > profound, if not frightening encounters with Hindu and/or Far Eastern Dieties, Spirits or legendary figures.
