Dear Friends,

First, I would like to say that I do not claim to have all the

answers to this issue but I do have some pertinant questions and

points for your esteemed consideration.

Recent reports about NASA's discovery of Lord Rama's bridge are

highly questionable. Why? The following points need to be addressed

before reaching the conclusion that NASA discovered Lord Rama's

bridge rather than the high ridge of a flooded region of South India.

1) Current Sri Lanka was always called Simhala thus the dutch/british

mispronounciation of the word was Ceylon.Only very recently,(1970s)

has the name Sri Lanka been attched, officially, to Simhala. I

challenge anyone to find a map over 40 years old naming Sinhala as

Sri Lanka. If one exists please let me know.

2)Geological studies have shown and proven that current Sri Lanka was

directly connected to India's land mass as recently as 11,500 years

ago. One can easily confirm this by looking at scientifically

accurate maps of ancient earth.Ramayana's date is much more ancient.

Even the lowest estimates appear to be around 16,000 years ago what

to speak of the Vedic date of 800,000 to 1 million years ago. Obvious

descriptions of the planet of a million years ago can be found

profusely in the Ramayana. Examples,Sri Lakshman's description of the

frozen rivers and four tusked elephants cracking the ice in order to

drink. Such four-tusked elephants were roaming approximatly 1 million

years ago.

Also Chinese research has found ape-like beings that walked erect and

it is believed to have gone extinct within the past 800,000

years. Were these the Vanaras? By believing that Simhala is the

Ramayana's Sri Lanka discredits the Vedic Ramayana timeline.

3)The geography of the Ramayana clearly states the distance travelled

by Hanuman to be 100 yojanas or about 800 miles. Following Hanuman's

journey we find that at exactly 800 miles one comes to the modern

island of Diego Garcia. Studies have shown that this island was once

part of a massive land mass that stretched from Madagascar thru the

Seychelles upto Diego Garcia. The fact that the Seychelles are made

of continental granite adds weight to this theory. Also the Ramayana

clearly mentions that a mountain offered its peak as a resting spot

for Hanuman,(who appreciated the offer but declined it.) At about

midway to modern day Diego Garcia, one finds a sea mount. It has been

suggested by some Vedic researchers that this sea mount is the very

same mountain that offered rest to Hanuman. It is important to note

that this sea mount is in the opposite direction of Simhala and can

be found in the South-West of India. Simhala is South-East of India.

4)It is time that Vedic researchers take on the challenge that has

been thrown our way by the anti-Vedic academic community. When has

Simhala first been refered to as Sri Lanka? Before recent times, when

was it ever refred to as Sri Lanka? Who or what is the genesis of

this misinformation campaign? And why on earth would an antagonostic

people, the Sri Lankan Government of the past 50 years and its allies

(The Christains/Muslims/Secularists and anti-Hindu Buddhists)accept

the pure Sanskrit/Vedic name of Sri Lanka as an applicable name for

their country? By accepting the ancient Indian region of Simhala as

Sri Lanka, it is impossible to scientifically validate the geography

of the Ramayana. Perhaps this is the motivation.

So if anyone has answers to these questions, please share them.

Otherwise, I think its time to start calling Simhala what it has

always been called...SIMHALA. Sri Lanka has sunk beneath the waves

long ago and what is left of it has no semblance to the ancient and

mighty Kingdom of Gold that had such an important part to play in the

history and culture of the World's most ancient, largest and ongoing

civilization, the Vedic Civilization.
