Guest guest
Jai Ramji Ki! Dear Vrin: Sri Lanka was known as Simhala only for a length of time of recent history. A king from Bengal region (his title was Simha) went over there and occupied the land. The country was renamed as Simhala after him. Previous to that Simhala was Lanka. It was called Lanka in Sri Rama's time. Lankans have changed the name of their land back to its ancient name. Regards, Dhruba.
