Guest guest
For the newcomer to Vedic astrology- One of the main tasks of an interpreter is to identify the disposition of a planet. Sign position has a lot to do with this, as does house position and the natural signification of a planet- karakatva. Perhaps the most telling contributor to the disposition of a planet, however, is its lordship over houses. Lordship empowers a planet as a functional malefic or a fucntional benefic. Here are the rules of house lordship: 1. The lord of a trine and of a quadrant at the same time is a functionally powerful planet, and is called a yogakaraka. 2. The lords of the fifth and of the ninth ( trines ) are always benefic, insofar as the lordship is concerned. 3. Ownership over the houses: 3, 6, 11 and 12 is always bad. 4. Benefic ownership over a quadrant, especially two quadrants, is bad. 5. Malefic ownership of a quadrant improves the malefic. 6. Ownership of the eighth is bad except for the Sun and the Moon. They remain largely neutral in this particular respect. 7. Ownership over the second and the seventh at the same time is quite maraka, death-inflicting. Again, house lordship goes a long way towards establishing the disposition of a planet. Astrovedica: /?yguid=40489357 Dharma/Dean
