Maharashtra has once again witnessed riots (reported on 21.10.) in Badlapur

(close to Mumbai) and Amravati district. During the last 15-20 months the state

had riots in Pune, Mhalegaon (response to 11/9/), Nandurbhar (Hindu burnt

alive), Jalgaon(Hindu burnt alive) both the burnings took place post Godra, ,

Kalyan and last week Sholapur. While reports for 21.10. riots are yet to come

in, in all other cases it is Muslims who have taken to violence, either killed

Hindus or destroyed their temples.

 

Yet the reponse of the English, print and electronic has been to underplay

Muslim violence and Hindu loss of life/sufferring. Compare the burning alive of

two Hindus, one of whom was a five month child with that of Graham Staines which

made international headlines. And the exaggerated - biased reporting in Gujarat.

 

To my mind Indian Muslims have become more aggressive than ever before for the following reasons -

 

1. Rise in Pan-Islamic sentiment post Sept 11 and arrogance arising from

destruction of World Trade Centre. Godhra was planned by the Pakis to turn the

tables on India internationally & cause domestic turmoil.

 

2. Biased reporting by the English media whereby Muslim violence is either not

reported or underplayed in the name of not arousing Hindu backlash or simply

put, the Media is scared of their offices being attacked by the Muslims as was

done in Bangalore sometime ago.

 

3. Inability of the Hindu to take to violence with the same passion as the

Muslim does. Wonder about the impact of Hinduvta in Gujarat post Godhra &

Akshayadham massacre, I mean would anyone go to Ayodhya again or support it

publicly?

 

4. The Muslims & Pakistan have realized that the BJP are paper tigers, a bunch

of people who talk tough but are incapable of tough action.

 

5. Hindus do not know how to build Memorials for their dead. They need to learn

from the Muslims who make an issue of Babri Masjid demolition on Dec 6 every

year and that master marketer U.S.A.

 

Perhaps the men in the BJP need a woman amidst them -Amma Jayalalitha!
