6. Names of God - as referred to above the Sukhmanee Sahib has different names

for various aspects of God like Prabhu, Bhagwan, Gopal, Parabrahm. Their

meanings in brief are below, on the site are detailed meanings from the Vishnu

Sahasranama published by the Chinmaya Mission.

Hari - One who eliminates all Papa (evil) & ignorance.

Prabhu - One who is the ultimate Master.

Parabrahm - The one non-dual & infinite divinity.

Gobind - One who is the knower of all knowledge as revealed in the Vedas.

Bhagwan - One who is an embodiment of all the six glories.

Thakur - The powerful one.

Parmanand - Embodiment of infinite joy.

Gopal - One who protects his followers & our faculties.

Brahmagyani - He is a person who experientially knows the timeless, infinite

truth of the universe (Brahman) - as his real Self".
