Now that the Gujarat BJP has survived a hate campaign launched by the print and

electronic English media it is time to look ahead. The Media needs to

introspect whether its views are in sync with those of the State!

 

1. Modi must carry with him various sections of the BJP in Gujarat so that he

can carry on with the process of governance.

2. Focus on e governance, increase use of Computers & make broadband as cheap as cable TV.

3. Liberate all Temples from State Government control so that donations made by

Hindus to their temples do not go to the State Treasury but be used for

improving the well being of fellow Hindus just like in the case of

Muslims/Christians.

4. Pass a bill making State Government approval mandatory for opening all places

of religious worship.

5. Make Water available to all of Gujarat for eg make the Sardar Sarovar Dam project a success.

6. Prepare a Vision 2010 for Gujarat, identify the industries that the State must focus on.

7. Ensure that State Co-perative Banks are managed and regulated well to avoid a

repeat of the Co-operative Bank Scams.

8. Pass an Anti-Conversion Bill on the lines of Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Tamil Nadu.

9. Reassure the Minorities of full protection provided they do not take to mass

killings and rioting like what happened 2002.

10. Encourage, Hindus to start more Schools & learning of Gujarati by giving

Fiscal support if neccessary (ask NRI's)

11. Make Gujarat a centre of Yoga and Indic studies.

12. Privatize all loss making Public Sector Undertakings.

 

To my mind these are some of the more important issues that Shri Modi needs to

address. His performance would have a bearing on the Assembly elections of

2003-4.
