N. Oaks from his book Our World Vedic Heritage, page 577. Posted by Dharmapad Gauriya Another factor to be remembered in the case of Korea is that its initial letter 'K' is a substitute for the Sanskrit letter 'G'. An instance of this is that the Sanskrit word 'Gow' is spelled in English as 'Cow'. Likewise the Sanskrit Gorlya and later as Korea. Gauri is a Vedic goddess. She is the consort of Lord Shiv. As such she was worshipped as the Mother Goddess throughout the ancient Vedic world.
