The principle of arsa-prayoga and other considerations My question to the Prabhupadaimstics: Dr. Prasada Gokhale for New Fredericton New Brunswick. Canada. He had put many literary and astronomical evidences showing that Lord Buddha did not lived in the 550 BC. But 1800 B. C. Jiva Goswami in his Krsna Sandharbha Anuccheda 24 wrote: "Lord Buddha appears when two thousand years of the Kali age had passed" Before of the misidentification between the Sandracutus mentioned by the Greek historian Maghastenes with Chandrgupta Maurya by Sir William Jones, even Jones like all Indian historians accept two things: Lord Buddha was around 1000 BC and Shankara live in the 440 BC. The Rajatarangini , a history text of Kashmir by Kalhana record how the Ashoka of the Gonanda dynasty embracing the faith of Gotama Buddha, etc. He was a ahimsa -peaceful ruler on the conversion of Buddhism living in 1448-1400 BC. But He was not the Maurya Ashoka, because, Murya king is know be respectful and supportive of Brahmanas and Sharamanas, in the Girnar rock edits and in a book from Him, where He open with the pranams to King Prithu, Lord Rama, Yudhsitira, etc. All vaisnavas kings from the past. So, even tough Srila Prabhupada used the conventional dates of 500 BC of Lord Buddha and Asoka Maurya misdientifiactions in His preaching, but His Divine Grace wrote too: "Men with poor found of knowledge only accept the history of the world from time of Buddha, o since 600 BC., and prior to this period all histories mentioned in the scriptures are calculated by them to be only imaginary stories." (SB. 1.3.41. Purport.) Here arise other problem, how we can understand the up date in the chronology of India history with out change Prabhupada teachings??? Other point, ther is the episthemilogical problem mentioned in the Nyaya sastras: Whe some one is looking gold; look everything with gold. Is some body is lusty after women, he look to every lady like a potencial prostitute. Is some body is objetive and read the book about the proof reading in the new editions of Bhagavad-Gita and other Prabhupada books, and checking the files in audio cassets etc, He can found that there is no changes in the Prabhupada´s statements. Is some body want to fight agianst to changes in the righ way, He can wrotte to this address satchmo868, with a Prabhupada´s initite disciple editor of one Vaisnava Journal, where He use offensive words like Mithology to the sacred histories of the Sastras. Hoping in a positive answer. Ys. Hare Krsna das Priest of Radha Govinda Mandir ISKCON Graduade student in the U A de C.
