USA, but his STAR leans left in India. Could the Christian Church and its

ideology be the common factor, as leftists in India side with the Church and so

Fox Richard Cohen lambastes Rupert Murdoch for creating a media empire with

an agenda ["A Media Empire's Injustices," op-ed, April 22]. It is hard to

disagree with any of Cohen's points, but a biased news outlet is nothing new.

One would be hard-pressed to find any newspaper, cable news outlet or news Web

site that maintains true objectivity. News in any format is merely a business,

and those at the corporate helm choose to disseminate what they think will

sell. If CNN and MSNBC have chosen recently to allow conservatives a wider

forum, it is because they have belatedly arrived at Murdoch's conclusion: That

is what the American public wants.Perhaps the popularity of Fox News and the

New York Post has less to do with Murdoch's sensationalism and more to do with

the fact that middle America has grown weary of the traditional left-biased

news put forth by tired institutions such as CNN and the New York Times. The

traditional liberal media have an agenda no less glaring than Murdoch's, but

the intellectual elite see fit to throw stones only when they realize they no
