CELEBRATION OF NAVRATRI IN GUJARAT

September 25 - October 5, 2003

 

As you are probably aware, the state of Gujarat, situated on the mid-west

coast, is one of the most vibrant states of India.

 

The state is known globally for its unparalleled cultural heritage and natural

resources, its unique terrain and wildlife, its most distinctive from of

architectural heritage monuments and above all the sense of pride and

hospitality of its people.

 

It gives me immense pleasure to invite you to join us in the forthcoming

Navratri festival celebrations, which will be held from September 25 to October

5 2003. May I also take this opportunity to solicit your assistance to give wide

publicity to this event, so that the people of the country you are serving in,

get enthused to visit Gujarat during this event.

 

This festival of Navratri, a carnival of nine nights of dance and devotion, is

the best cultural symbol of the state. Celebrated with piety, colorful costume,

music and dance, the festival has always attracted tourists from India and

abroad. This year, we would like you and your clients to savour the unbridled

joy and rich cultural heritage of arts and crafts, dance and music, fairs and

festivals of our state.

 

The visiting tourists would have the first hand experience of staying with a

host family and finding out for themselves what makes Gujarat so vibrant. While

with their hosts, the guests would get to enjoy the state's vast repertoire of

heritage and culture from the last abode of the Asiatic Lions as well as the

numerous temples and beaches that dot its 1600 – km coastline.

 

What's more, along with festivities, you also have a unique opportunity to

experience the business spirit of the state. To enable you to do so, the

Government of Gujarat plans to organise "Vibrant Gujarat: Global Investors'

Summit," a series of conventions, exhibitions and seminars during the Navratri

festival. It will be an ideal opportunity to interact with the top decision

makers in the government as well as captains of industry to share their vision

and envisage how you could be a part of the synergy.
