Mystic India - New Film On Child Yogi

Neelkanthhttp://www.mysticindiathefilm.comINDIA, November 14, 2003: Mystic

India is a new film produced by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Billed as the

world's first large format epic on India, this period film, set 200 years back

in time, retraces an incredible journey of inspiration, according to the press

release. A trailer for the film is available at "source." The release goes on,

"An adventure of hardships, survival and heroism undertaken by a child. Mystic

India rediscovers India, her culture and way of life. For thousands of years,

many have left their homes and set off across this spiritual land on a

spiritual quest; to share the meaning of life that would elevate the rest of

humanity. Of all such journeys, perhaps none is greater than the true story of

an 11-year old child yogi, Neelkanth. From 1792 to 1799, Neelkanth walked

alone, barefoot and barebody, 7,500 miles for 7 years through the length and

breadth of India. Carrying no maps, no food and no clothing, how he crossed

the rivers, faced dangerous animals and survived the freezing winter of the

Himalayas, is still a mystery. In March-May 2003, the Mystic India production

team traveled to 52 different film locations in India, re-creating the

adventures of Neelkanth (now known to us as Lord Swaminarayan). Capturing

dazzling images and scenes, the film transports the audience to some of

India's most sacred and treasured destinations." Mystic India is scheduled for

release in 2004.
