The Ministry of Culture and Information has recently approved a VND173-billion project to restore the world cultural heritage site of My Son holy land. The project will be carried out this month with most of the investment being spent on research, survey and restoration of the site and upgrade of the drainage system. Located in Duy Phu commune, Duy Xuyen town, My Son about 70 kilometres southwest of Da Nang city, is an Indian holy land of the Champa Kingdom. My Son heritage site was discovered by a French scholar named M.C Paris in 1898. With burnt-brick and sandstone materials, Cham people established an unconventional and conspicuous architecture. The main temple honours Linga-Yoni, the symbols of procreation. Besides the main temples, others worship gods or dead kings. http://www.vietnam- tourism.com/vietnam_gov/e_pages/Dulich/Khoach&DanDL/Duandt/dadl_myson. htm
