Vanakam Sakta Muslim appointed as Hindu temple's priest A Muslim has

been anointed as a priest at an Indian Hindu temple. Mohammed Alamgir

attends prayers at mosques in Patna and has never failed to turn up

for Hindu prayers in 12 years. Mahant Prakash Nath, chief priest of

the Kali temple, is so impressed with the 30-year-old's devotion to

the goddess Kali that he has appointed him a priest. Some worshippers

at the temple voiced protests at the choice of a Muslim as a temple

priest but others have become Alamgir's admirers, reports newspaper

Aaj Kal. Alamgir says he discovered the Kali temple at a time when he

was unemployed and an aimless wanderer and that visits to the temple

give him "a spiritual high".
