Dear Bhaagavatas,

AdiyEn wants to thank the moderator/group creators

for adding me to this list. I also wanted to

use this oportunity to introduce myself. I know

some of the members from personal interaction

as well as through other . My name is

TCA Venkatesan, and I come from the Cunnavakam

branch of the Tirumalai Ananthanpillai vamsam.

I am currently settled in the Detroit area,

but am originally from Chinna Kanchipuram and

Thiruvallikkeni.

I have been reading with interest the mails so

far.

Back about 10 days ago, there were some questions

about what the group's directions should be set

to. Particularly, there were some questions

whether all members had to be Thenkalai or not.

I don't think there was any resolution to the

question. I think we need to resolve all such

questions first, so that the group's composition

as well as the nature of the posts are unambiguous.

This is particularly important considering that

the posts are not going to be moderated. We need

the input of the elders of this group, Sri

Velukkudi Krishnan Swami and Sri MA Venkatakrishnan

Swami, in this matter.

If we don't set the directions clearly in the

beginning, this will become a loosely knit group

with potential only to be in a reactive mode

(to postings in other groups).

Second, it looks like most of the members are

also members of other groups such as Bhakti.

I would request the members who write in

other groups, to still cross-post any articles,

etc. in this group so that the archives get

built. Otherwise, historical records will not

show everything this group stands for.

Third, there is some kalai dispute going on

in Bhakti list, with reference to the

image of Emperumanar in Sriperumbudur. I

don't think we should hurt anyone's

sentiments, but certain questions are being

raised about Sriperumbudur's history and

I would request those with such knowledge

to present them there.

Finally, are there any plans for us to adopt

divyadesams that are in dire need. Some of

them are in such a bad shape, an individual

cannot fully support it. However, if as a

group we chose to support them, we will make

a difference. It is probably too early to be

talking about requests for donations, etc.,

but if we set a direction early on in this

matter, as new members come on board they

will be able to immediately recognize such

things and become participants.
