Guest guest
sri: Humble pranams: Qs: Why does Manavalamamunigal have Adisesha as a Asana? (& Not Ramanuja) A: Ramanuja did take on as Perumals acharya in a few instances (Manrta Updesam to peruman & giving HIM Shankh & Chankra) But lord never gave him any Sambhavana. (Lord had this kurai) When VaraVaramunigal Gave Upadesam (Thiruavaimozhi saram), Lord gave him sanbhavana (SriSailesa Daya Patram taniana) and commanded that this be recited at every temple and home. And gave His Seat for His Sishya (Adiyen wants to get this calrified from periyavas) Pl. reply. So Ramanuja & VaraVara munigal are Avatara of Adisesha, but Lords seat is given for VaraVamunigal. (Please correct adiyen here... periyavas) Q2: Manvala Mamunigal (Does Mamvalan mean Mapillai, why this name how does this name apply to Periya Jeeyar) As: Please reply with Ans. dAsan

When eventually he got sanyAsam, his dAsya nAmam was given as Azhagiya maNavALa jeeyar and due to his unparalleled greatness his name was changed as maNavALa mAmuni. Actually this name of "Azhagiya maNavALa jeeyar" is what is described in his thaniyan by his very proud sishya, NamperumAL, as " ramya jAmAtaram munim" ramya - Azhagiya - beautiful jAmAtara: - maNavALan - bride groom muni - jeeyar AzhwAr emberumAnAr jeeyar thiruvadigaLE saraNam adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan Thirumalai Vinjamoor Venkatesh Enjoy being an Indyan at http://www.indya.com
Guest guest
Dear Mukundan Though Adiyen is not a periava, would like to share my knowledge in this context, if there is any thing correct the credit will obviously goes to Sri Krishnan swamy and if there are any blabbering and that's purely due to my misunderstanding.. (Please correct adiyen here... periyavas) > "Guna"- Also I heard that God was not satisfied with the Gurus He had so far Vishwamithra - during Rama avathar (As you know about Vishwamithra's story about Menaka et all) During Krishna Avathar also He was not satisfied with His Guru as you can read from "Elai Ethalan" Pathigam of Peria Thitumozhi. That hwen Krishna requested to His guru about the Fee, Guru did not want any thing and after so much of prssure form Krishna, finally Guru asked for his to be given back to him (his was lost some time back). Finally Krishna has to give his son a new birth,as goes teh story..So Krishna was also nat satisfied with His Guru Also He knows that with Jeers Avatharam OrAnvazhi Acharya's heritage is going to end and He didn't want to miss the bus and hence the Acharya Sambavana. As you mentioned Namperumal has instructed to all the DDs to follow this Thaniyan. If you read the story of Thirumali you will be amazed.. > > Q2: Manvala Mamunigal (Does Mamvalan mean Mapillai, why this name > how does this name apply to Periya Jeeyar) > "Guna" - Jeer's thirunamam is Azhagiya Manavalan(same as Namperumal) and Manavalan should have originated form His name. > As: Please reply with Ans. > > dAsan > > > > azhwAr emberumAnAr jeeyAr thiruvadigalE saranam > > > Your use of is subject to > > >
Guest guest
Dear Elders, There were a few occasions where I was told that Ramanuja did have Adisesha as Asana. One being an incident in Thondanoor (near Mysore) where he had to take on and answer flurry of questions from some thousand Jain scholars regarding the VishishtAdvaita philosophy, I'd appreciate if you could share the other occasions. Thanks Balaji > > Humble pranams: > > Qs: Why does Manavalamamunigal have Adisesha as a Asana? Guest guest
dear mukundan. aseervadams. the questiolns are very basic and to some extent silly.according to the guruparampara prabhavam and varavara muni charithiram lord ranganatha as a sishya to manavalamanunigal gave his adisesha peetam to him as a mark of respect. he performs the celebrations of manavalamanunigal on his birthday as well as his death day at srirangam. the acharya cycle is ended with manavalamanini. the reason is there could be nother acharya equivalent to manavalamanini in the future. that is the greatness. lord rangantha has bestowed his ubaya vibhuthi, ie this world and the abode of lord paramapadam to ramanuja at srirangam. he made ramanujas body to be laid at srirangam within the twmple complex. even to day all sevakalam and sattumurai etc of daily rituals are perform ed at the udayavar sannadhi. this is significance. here ranganatha has not chosen ramanuja as has acharya. so no sambavana and duty of a sishya. the name given to vara aramini by his father is azagiamanavalan, meaning lord ranganathan . the name of ranganatha is azgiamanavalan. later when varavaramuni came to srirangam and became sanyasi and at the time of his visit to lord ranganatha he was named by ranganatha as azagiamanavala jeer. the word azasgiamanavalan has been further made as manavalamanuni by devotees. though literally the meaning is mapppillai it refers to ranganatha. now our family matter---what further news from you. about--green card, giri, visit to new yark, mami, lakshmi etc. particularly job for giri.mothe had gone to madras to attend to few items.she was expecting a call from you. she tried several times. both ofyou were not availabel.if possible contact madras at chitti place 8444203 with best wishes, apppa. >Dan Pattangi <danp >ramanuja >ramanuja >[ramanuja] Manavalamamunigal - Asana on Adisesha >Mon, 1 Oct 2001 15:55:12 -0500 (CDT) > >sri: > >Humble pranams: > >Qs: Why does Manavalamamunigal have Adisesha as a Asana?
