Introduction and Divya desams

Dear All,

 

My name is Lakshminarayanan Srinivasan and currently reside in Philadelphia.

 

Our poorvikam is Melavazhai and our acharya is: sirupuliar annan swamigal.

 

I was fortunate to have the exposure to our sampradayams thru my maternal

grandfather Kombur Kumandur Sri Ramanuja Ayyangar and had the good fortunes

of listening to a lot of vedikas and adyapakas including Velukkudi

Varadachariar swamigal in my youth.

 

After coming to the US, while I have had the interest in our sampradayms in

our heart and soul, I have not been able to practice as much as I could.

 

Therefore, I am very excited at this group and am very thankful of the

organizers at this opportunity to re-engage in our sampradayams the 21st

century way.

 

I have recently been visiting a few divya desams in my each trip home and

like venkat S Iyengar, I am very passionate about organizing an endownment

that would sustain the divya aradhanas in the Divya desams.

 

I would volunteer to participate in that activity in any which way. Is there

a team that is already formed to get that underway? If there is, please

email me with details of one person and I would like to talk offline. If

not, may be we can get one going asap.

the establishment of Sri Ramanuja University and the Svami Manavala

Mamunigal Thiruvarasu project.I would request authorities to also

I agree with SrI Mukundan Pattangi that WE SHOULD ALL contribute

towards these projects according to our 'shakti'.I find it ironical

that our generation which is financially more comfortable as compared

to the earlier generations is finding it difficult (or at least it

seems so!) to sustain and maintain our heritage-the Divya Desams were

in a resonably good shape about 30 years ago.
