Guest guest
Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Sri Venkata Gurave Nama: During the last post we discussed about superiority of Thirumantram over Dvayam and sarama slokam. This post describes how Thirumantram was released to this World. 5. Sriman Narayanan stood himself as a Shisya as well as an acharya and gave the upadesam of Thirumantram due to his prama krupa (grace) after seeing the samsaries suffering from repeated births out of their ignorance. These samsaries have lost knowledge about the lord and also themselves(Their true self). (The reference here is made to Sri.Narayana's upadesam to Nara in Sri Badrikasramam ) 6. Why he chose to become a Shisya? It is because the statuses of jeevans were such that no one was capable of becoming a perfect Shisya than God himself. (The attributes of a good Shisya is 1. He should be an asthika 2. a dharmatma 3. Should have reverence towards sastras and deep devotion towards his acharyan. 4. Should have willingness to serve. Since all the above mentioned above attributes did not exist with a single person, Lord himself chose to beceome Nara, a prefect sishya. 7.The knowledge gained out of all sastras is like those earned by one's hard labor. The knowledge gained by Thirumantram on the contrary is like wealth inherited from forefathers. 8.The Mantras on the Bhagavan are many. 9.they are classified as Vyapaka and Avyapaka mantras. (Vyapaka Mantras describe the greatness or svarupam of the Omnipresent God. Avyapaka Mantras describes any one of His Avatars, leelas or Gunas. 10.Compared to Avyapaka Mantras, the three Vyapaka Mantras are Superior. (In Vishnu Gayatri, we have three Vyapaka Mantras namely, a. Narayanan b. Vasudevan c. Vishnu 11. Out of the 3 Vyapaka Mantras, the Mantra 'Narayana' is supreme. We will discuss why it is superior over other Mantras in the next post. Dasan KM Narayanan
