Slokam 8:

 

yadvAshramAvadhi yathamativApyyashakta:

 

stOumyEva mEvakhalutEapisadAstuvanta: |

 

vEdAshchaturmukha mukhAshcha maharNavAnta:

 

kOmajjatOraNukulAchalayorvishEsha: ||

 

yadvA - as said (in the previous sloka attemting an impossible task), ashakta:

+ api - although lacking knowledge and strength, shrAmAvadhi - according to

the strength, va - or, yathamati - to the extent possible, stoumi - will sing

in praise, sadA - always, atuvanta: - singing the praise, tE - those, vEdA:

api - vEdas also, chaturmukha mukhashcha - bramha and other also,

EvamEvakhalu - just like this, mahArNavAnta:- in the great ocean, majjatO: -

drowning, aNukulAchalayO: - atom and "kulAchala" mountain, kavishEsha: - what

is the difference?

 

 

tAtparyam:

 

 

The greatness of bhagavAn is boundless. Nobody can estimate it. The greatness

praised by the vedAs or by Brahma may be like a big mountain ; whereas that

praised by me, who is of limited mental faculty and lacks knowldge and

strength, may be like an atom. Both of these, when drowned in the ocean of

greatness of bhagavAn, have no difference.
