thvAm sheelaroopacharithai: paramaprakruShta sathvEna

sAthvikathayA prabhalaishcha shAsthrai: |

praKhyAthadaiva paramArthavidAm mathaishcha

naivAsuraprakruthaya: prabhavanthibodhdhum ||

 

thvAm - You (the Lord to one and all)

sheela - auspicious attributes such as sowsheelya,

soulabhya

roopa - a divine body

charithai: - with divine acts

parama - extraordinarily

prakruShTa - supreme

sathvEna - with satvaguna

sAthvikathayA - because they are sAtvika in nature,

{sAtvika - one of the meanings is also

unchanging, everlasting, indestructible

 

etc.}

prabalai: - strong

shasthrai: - scriptures (such as pAncharAtryadyAgama,

srIrAmAyana, srIvishNupurAna,

srimanmahAbhArata, srimad BhAgavata etc.

which clearly establish the supremacy of

Lord SrimannArAyana)

 

prakhyAtha - famous

daiva paramArtha- - supremacy of the Lord

vidAm - knowledgeable ones (such as Sage vyAsa,

parAshara etc)

mathaishcha - siddAnthAs which are not contradictory

among themselves and accept that it is

srimannArAyana who is the supreme Lord.

 

Asura prakruthaya: - beings with "tAmasa guNa" as

stated in "pravrittincha nivrittinch

janAnavidurAsurA:"

 

BOdhdhum Eva - to know (that He is the Lord of all

dEvathas)

na prabhavanthi - are not capable.

 

 

tAtparyam:

 

By your divine acts and body, by the conglomeration of

 

your innumerable auspicious attributes such as

sowsheelya, soulabhya that are in keeping with your

supremacy, by the scriptures that show clearly that

You are the Supreme Being and from the siddAnthas of

highly knowledgeable sages such as vyAsa, parAshara,

vAlmiki and others, Your supremacy has been

established beyond doubt. But due to their tAmasaguna

some people are incapable of knowing You (through

those mentioned above)
