dear bhAgavathAs,

 

The following is an excerpt from mail sent by

Sri TridaNdi srIman nArAyaNa rAmAnuja chinna

jIyar svAmi on another list (). He summarises

the whole religion for us so precisely and concisely.

Jai Srimannarayana!

 

Attaining Mo:ksha, ie., release from the bondage

of Karma in total and reaching a state where there

will only be divine joy & bliss, will happen

only by the unquestionable mercy of God. He has

His own discretion in sanctioning anything He

likes. We need not do anything to attain that. All

that we need to know how to be a "man" in this

world. Take Lord Sri Rama as an example. He lived

like a real man, a Model Man, exemplifying His

whole life. And His life says ' if you live like

a real man, you will be worshiped here in this world

and nether worlds, as well.

 

So far as worldly pleasures are concerned, you

need to know how to enjoy them. And to what extent

you need to enjoy them, for they are not evil

things to be experienced. Otherwise, God would

not have allowed them to exist in this Universe at

all. Everything in this world is good, if we

realize it's place and purpose and for whom it

is existing. Then even poison also becomes good

to someone at some occassion. So, don 't think

that worldly things are bad, in general. They are

bad to those who do not know how to deal with

them. They are the ones, for those who is able to

perceive the divine presence of Lord even in them,

like Prahlada, Sri Suka Yogi and Sri Nammalwar etc.
