Dear Bhaktas:

 

I have been learning many things from the postings of Bhaktilist and

Ramanuja groups. Since my knowledge is limited, I have not been interacting

on many issues. But one thing is still nagging my mind, about which I want

to share my feelings with learned members and look forward to favourable

reply.

 

Excepting one noting from Mr Shantakumar about Ayodhya Divya Desa

Kainkaryam, to the best of my knowledge, I have not seen any article

regarding the controversy surrounding Ayodhya. Is it because as

Srivaishnavites, we should not go into any controversies and concentrate

only on propagation of Sri Vasihnavism. I have not seen any involvement of

any Vaishnavite organisation as such on this matter. Not that I want our

group to get involved in dirty politics being played in the name of

religion.

 

In this context, I have noted from Sri Shantakumar's postings that there is

a beautiful temple of Sri Rama in the South Indian Style, on the Banks of

river Sri Sarayu and that this is the only temple called as Divya Desa at

Ayodhya. If that is so, what is the sanctity of claim that Lord Ram was born

at the place where the demolished structure of Babri Masjid stood. Was it

just another temple devoted to Lord Ram and not significant as the one on

the Banks of river Sri Sarayu. Then, will I be wrong to presume that vested

interests are out to create communal harmony in the name of resurrecting the

temple for Ram at his birthplace. As a true follower of Sri Vaishnavism, I

feel that we should strive to follow the principle of 'live and let live".

 

If I am wrong, please correct me and excuse me for raising embarrassing

question. If my understanding as mentioned above is correct, can I express

my views, condemning the politics being played, through newspapers like The

Hindu and The Statesman by pointing out that importance should be given only

to the temple on the banks of river Sri Sarayu and county's integrity should

not be put to test at this critical juncture.
