Guest guest
Dear Devotees: This beautiful article is from Maharabooshanam Sadagopan who made this flyer on Mamunigal and collected and sent Rs 25000 towards Mamunigal ThiruVarasu Project to SriVaishanvasri Krishnamachariar at Srirangam. Article and updates on Mamunigal Thiruvarasu at: www.radioramanuja.com ========Please Print and distribute to all ==================== SriRangam is considered as head quarters for all srivaishnavites. All the Alwars were deeply involved in Srirangam and all great acharayas settled in srirangam and spread srivaishnava (Sri Ramanuja) philosophy to the world. In our sampradhayam, three mantras are very important: 1. Thiru mantram: This one was given by Lord to Lord in Bathrikasramam. Here lord sriman Narayana has taken avathara as Naran Naryanan. Narayanan as Acharaya and Naran as sisya, thirumantra upadesam started here. 2. Dwayamantram: This one was given by Lord (Narayanan) to Sri (Lakshmi) in paramapadam. 3. Charma slokam: Lord Krishna gives it Bhagawad Gita, Arjuna Ratham. While delivering Thirumantram to world, one question arises (Mantra1) Why Lord has taken avathara as naran(sisya) as well?, Reply is given in Swami Pillai Locaacharaya's Mumuksupadi. HE wants to show the qualities of a sishya to world. Qualities of a Shishya was not shown in any book or grantham. Hence HE has adopted swamy ManavalamaMunigal as Acharayan in Archavathara and HE has shown the quality of sishya to world. Five Primary qualities of Sishsya, Lord Alagiya Manavalan (Lord Ranganatha) has mentioned and is still practicing in Srirangam: 1. Sishya should make/chant thanian for his acharayan: Lord Ranaganatha has made thanian to HIS acharayan swamy Manavalamamunigal. "SrIsailEsa dayA pAtram dheebhakti Aadhi guNarNavam yatIndra pravaNam vandhE ramya jaamaatharam munim Hence this thanian has its own importance in Sri Vaishnava sampradhayam. 2. Sishya's responsibility: Spread Acharaya's name and message to every corner of the world. Lord Ranganatha has instructed and sent pattu Ooalai to all divyadesams to recite his acharay thanian in begining and end of Divyaprabhandham. It is in practice in most of the divyadesams. 3. Sishya should surrender his wealth to Acharayan thiruvadi: Adiseshan is considered as wealth for LORD Sriman Narayanan. This one we can see from "sendraal kudaiyam, irundaal sing aasanamam ..........". Lord Ranganatha has offered his entire wealth to his Acharaya Swamy Manavalamamunigal. Hence swamy Manavalamamunigal is seated in Adiseshan. Eventhough Swamy Ramanujar and Swamy Manavalamamunigal are avatharam of Adiseshan, we always see swamy manavalamamunigal (Archa Vigraha, or Puctures etc) seated in Adisesha because of this reason. (Lord Sriman Narayanan has offered his seat Adisesha to Swamy Manavalamamunigal.) 4. Sishya should have his Acharaya name with his name: Swamy Manavalamamunigal took sanyasam from Satakopa Jeeyar who is also desciple of Swamy Thiruvaimozhipillai (as per Yathindrapravanam). Hence Swamy MaMunigal wants to change his name to Satakopan after his sanyasam. But Lord Ranganath appears infront of him and instructs not to change his original name Alagiya Manavalan. Initially nobody understood why Lord Ranganatha has instructed Mamunigal like this. This is seen later as HE (Lord Ranganatha) wants to adopt swamy Manavalamamunigal as acharayan. 5. Sishya should celebrate his acharayan thirunakshathiram (Birth day) and thErtha Naal: Even to this day, Lord Ranganatha is still celebrating his Acharaya thirunakshathiram and Theertha Naal. Lord Ranganatha sends all his prasadam to Swamy Manavalamamunigal sannidhi and Lord Ranganahta's Archaka is doing thirumanjanam and thiruvaradanam to swamy MaMumigal on these two days. Lord does not take surulamathu (Vaetrilai and paaku) on his acharayan theetha Naal.
