Guest guest
SrImatE rAmAnujAya namah Dear Bhagavatottamas, namaskAram. As ordered by SrImAn C.Rangarajan swAmI, Committee Member, Sri Udayavar Kainkarya Sabha, Triplicane, I am sending you the following appeal. adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan Srimahavishnu Vinjamuri ------------ Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple, Thiruvallikkeni, has a special importance in the life of Sri Ramanuja, the founder of Visishtadwaita philosophy. As per sthala puraanam, Sri Pillailogam Jeeyar Swamy in his work "Ramanuja Divya Charithai" has stated that Sri Asoori Kesava Somayaji, father of Sri Ramanuja, performed Putrakaameshti Yagam here at Kairavini praying to the Lord Parthasarathy to bless Him with a son. Lord Himself appeared in his dream and blessed him and informed him that He Himself would be born as his Son in order to give real import of teachings of His Gita for the benefit of mankind. In conformity of the above tradition and in accordance with the customs of this temple, during the annual festival, Sri Udayavar has independent processions both in the morning and evening with Mandapapadi at Gangai Kondan Mandapam including on Satthumurai day. During the ten days of annual festival, Sri Udayavar is housed in the Kannadi Arai (Glass Room) on equal footing with Lord Parthasarathi (during brahmotsavam). In addition to conducting monthly and annual festivals of Sri Udayavar, our Sabha has periodically presented ThiruAbharanams like Karna patram, Anjali hastam, Yagnopaveetam, Hasti kireetam, Gemset tridandam to be adorned on festival days, ordinary Thridandam for daily use and Nalmuthu Kondai. Last year, we presented Velvet Pannagam fully decorated with embroidary work for the big golden pallanquin and a complete Seelai set (Kalasam, umbrella, Thumbai, Kooralam Corner Flags etc.) for use in the small car (Ratham) of the temple. In our temple, Lord Parthasarathi has Sri Sadagopam made out of gold. Two years back,Sadagopam made of gold called Ponnadiyam Senkamalam was presented to Acharya Sri Manavala Mamunigal by Sri Manavala Mamunigal Kainkarya Sabha. Considering the importance of Sri Udayaver in this temple, in the last general body meeting, members keenly felt the absence of a golden Sri Sadagopam called "Mudaliyandan" for Sri Ramanuja and in order to fulfil the long felt need, all members of the Sabha resolved unanimously to make collections to prepare and present the golden Mudaliyandan to Sri Udayavar at the earliest. Total cost of the project is roughly estimated to be Rs. 4 lakhs. We appeal to all philanthropic public, members and devotees to avail the golden opportunity and come forward with libveral contributions of not less than Rs. 1000/- for the noble kainkaryam and also to request their relatives and friends both in India and abroad to contribute. Persons donating Rs. 5000/- and above will be presneted with a valuable memento. This can also be paid in instalments. This appeal may be treated as personal request and donations many be sent either in cash or cheque or DD drawn in favour of "Sri Udayavar Kainkarya Sabha" and sent to Secretary, 12, Arumuga Chetty Lane, Triplicane, Chennai - 600005. The receipt will be sent promptly. On completion of the work "Sri Mudaliyandan" will be displayed at the temple and all the donors will be invited to have a close look at it and thereafter it will be presented to the temple. We request your full cooperation to make our endeavour a success and receive the blessings of Lord Parthasarahy and Sri Udayavar, the foremost of our Acharyas.
