THIRUKKOLUR AMMAL VARTHAIGAL - Part I

 

1) I did not say I will bring Sri Krishna like Akkrura

Thiruppavai: Orrithimaganai Pirandu oriravil orrithimaganai...

 

Krishna was born to Devaki, but He was brought up in

Ayarpadi as Yasodha and Nandagopan's son.

 

Kamsa having known that Krishna was born to kill him,

He thought he could kill Krishna before He grew up.

 

Kamsa decided to celebrate a big festival and

planned to invite Krishna and Balarama to that

event, and kill both the children there.

 

Kamsa asked a close friend of Yasodha and

Nandagopa s called Akroora and told him

Will you please go to Ayarpadi, and bring

both the children of Nandagopa s for the

Danur Yagnam I am conducting?

 

I will have the royal elephant "Kuvalayapidam"

and the 2 wrestlers Chanooran and Mushtikan

on standby to kill the children. After their death

only I can live peacefully and happily. Please

take the fastest chariot and with kind words

and promise of good care bring them back

as soon as possible.

 

Akoora loved Krishna. He was a wise man,

and he knew that Krishna was none other

than the avathara of LORD, Paramapurusha

Srimannarayana.

 

He felt that as Kamsa's messenger he could go,

see Krishna and Balarama, and spend time with them.

 

So the request of Kamsa made Akrrora

very happy. He knew that Kamsa could never

kill Krishna. He agreed to go to Gokulam

and along the way he was having very happy

thoughts, because he was going to be in

the company of Krishna and Balarama soon.

 

Once he reached Ayarpadi he was

received by one and all with great joy.

After he told them that he came to take

the children to Madhura, both Krishna and

Balarama were sent with Akkroora, after

a lot of well wishing from the residents of

Ayarpadi and special blessings from the

children's parents, to bring them back safely.

 

We all know the rest of the story, that

Krishna defeated Kamsa and came back safe.

 

Akrrora was totally blessed by Perumal,

that he was privileged to take Krishna

and Balarama with him.

 

So Thirukkolur Ammal starts weeping

that she was not blessed like Akkroora.

Akrura knew Kishna was LORD Narayana

and can never be harmed,

 

Complete the story so its good for the kids

as to how Lord Krishna Killed Evil Kamsa,

2 wrestlers and elephant "Kuvalayapidam".

some write

some others write

alwar emperumanar jeeyar thiruvadigale saranam

 

which one is right?

 

i was told emperumAnAr was right which was presented by bhagavad

ramanujachrya's acharya.
