Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya nama: Dear devotees, I'm reflecting some of my views regarding our sampradayam and Emperuman's lIlas in reply to the posts on free will,puNya/pApa and nirhEtuka krpa. I could be highly wrong in my thinkings but i subject myself to correction. 1. In our SampradAyam(Ramanuja),either we desire to do kainkaryams to Him and His bhAgavatAs in bhUlOka itself or do kainkaryams in paramapadam. These are the only two goals of any SrivaiSNava. Sorgam/narakam is irrelevant here. 2. Sriman Narayana is endowed with all auspicious qualities(kalyANa guNAs) and no negative attributes. HE knows very well of our shortcomings. HE showed His grace on the squirrel which to its capacity helped perumAL. With our limited knowledge and capacity we can't try to please Him completely. 3. In my opinion,Srimad Bhagavatam will help us understand Emperuman's nirhEtuka krpa. I would be very happy if someone can throw light on the "exact" interpretation behind sisupAlan's mOkshA. I listened to Smt Prema Pandurangan's discourse on Srimad Bhagavatam some yrs back but I don't remember anything except the Summum Bonum esp,RukmiNi's kalyANam(10th Canto)and I'm so far unfortunate not to have listened to Sri Krishna Premi's discourse on the same. Everybody was surprised to witness sisupAlan merging with perumAL. If one goes by karma theory(and we don't know what sisupAlan's past karmas),it's difficult to explain sisupAlan's case. Only by nirhEtuka krpa of Emperuman, one can explain these things(that's my feeling!). 4. HE wills/desires things to happen in such a way. HE Himself sets the stage, directs the play and acts too. We are only instruments. 5. HE may grant mOksha to those who didn't even seek. I don't think sisupAlan sought for it! HE may not grant mOksha even when we seek. It's His lIlA. HE knows when to give and what to give! 6. I don't think granting mOksham is bound by karma or puNya/pApa in our sampradAyam(This I want scholars to clarify). 7. The effort on our part is nothing compared to what HE gives in return! No matter how much effort one puts, one can't get anywhere near Him. Knowledge and Ego are twins. In the process of making efforts we may also introduce lot of ego which is going to form a block in seeking His krpa. That's why HE Himself gave the alternative "sarva dharmAn...mA suca:". 8. It's out and out by His nirhEtuka krpa only,we are granted mOkshA and not by anythingelse. Please forgive my ignorance in understanding our sampradAyam and also I will be delighted if someone can correct my wrong views.
