==================================================

Why didn t I try to correct the ten headed one like Piratti ? - Part 4

==================================================

Here Piratti means Sita Devi

Ten headed one means Ravana

When an insect flies towards a light because it is attracted

to the light and dies because of the fire and heat, the light

cannot be blamed. IN the same connection our Purvacharyas

have explained Kakasura s and Ravana s actions. When

Kakasura hurt Sita and because of his actions when nobody

would give him help he came back and fell at Her feet and

he only lost one eye by the arrow of Sri Rama.

Here Ravana would not pay heed to Sita s words

and he died in the end. Though Sits Piratti was

capable of punishing Ravana for his evil deeds by herself,

much as she tried to correct him with her patience

because he did not return Her to Sri Rama,

She waited for Rama to give Ravana punishment

and take Her back to Ayodhya.

She didn t care about Ravana, nor his abundant

wealth that was described to Her by Hanuman.

She cared less for the luxuries that he tried to

tempt Her wealth. Even though Ravana threatened

her with torture and death She still spoke to him kindly,

and without and tried to show him the correct path (to GOD).

She was kept in prison in a foreign land alone,

being surrounded by rakshashis she did not get

scared and yielded to Ravana s demands to marry him.

She knew that Her body and soul belonged to SriRAMA,

She waited for Him to come to SriLanka and rescue Her,

so She didn t try to take Her own life in the face of such adversity.

She kept Sri RAMA in Her mind constantly and meditated on

Him with full faith. At the same time She tried to reform Ravana.

Thirukkolur Ammal is lamenting that this kind of mental strength

and stamina is rare in ordinary people like me and I was not

there with Piratti to help Her to correct the ten headed one.

Moral of theStory:

Here Piratti is doing Purushakaram, trying to bring the helpless

and the hopeless to Perumal.

Though ravana did not correct his evil ways he got to meet Perumal.

One also have to have deep faith in God and focus on His Holy Feet

in the face of hardship and adversity in life.

ALSO ONE NEEDS TO APPROACH THEM AS DIVYA DAMPATHIS,

in Ramayanam , Surpanaka (Ravana s sister wanted only SriRAMA

and she lost her nose, but Ravana wanted Piratti only but he went

to the extreme of separating Perumal and Piratrti and lost his life.

So let us think of Perumal and Thayar as out parents and worship them together.
