Dear Baghavathas, Avvept my pranam. This is in continuation of earlier posting.

 

AVATHARA RAHASYAM ( 2 )

Does he take birth like Chethanas ?

It is not like that. He takes Avathars by his self-determination (sankalpa).

That is “ATHMA MAYAYA’

MAYA. means ‘VAYUNAM, GNANAM”

Knowledge that creates many wonders will be the apt meaning for the word “ Maya”

here.

It is not that ”Maya” meaning deception. Things that do not exist cannot create

wonders.

Further, deception is a deficiency on the part of the observer as his knowledge

is incomplete to understand the situation.

He takes Avathars by his sankalpa .

‘ ICHAA GRAHEETHABHIMATHORUDHEHAHA;’ (Vishnu Purana. 6.5.84)(He takes pleasant

great bodies by his sankalpa as required for the occasion.)

 

‘ SAMASTHA SAKTI ROOPANI THATH KAROTHI JANESWARA!

DEVA, THIRYANG MANUSHYAKYA CHESHTAVANTHI SWA LEELAYA.” ( Vishnu Puranam.6.7.71)

(Oh! King! The Brahman takes apt forms of Deva, animals, birds, man with

required skills to exhibit his sport (leela)

 

‘ ENNINRA YONIYUMAYI PIRANTHAYI (Thiruvirutham 1)

 

‘INAIVANAM EPPORULKUM (TVM.2.8.1)

‘ MAVAKI AMAYAYI MEENAKI MANIDAMAM DHEVADHIDHEVA PERUMAN

(TVM.2.8.5)

Emperuman takes Avathars as Tree, Tortoise, Fish, human, and any form . He just

fits perfectly with that form; but does not loose his special characters.

 

Why can’t it be taken that Emperuman creates himself?

 

‘ BAHUSYAM’ ( chando.6-2-3) says that Brahman created himself into various

things.

It cannot be like that. Because,

‘ THASYA DHEERA; PARIJANANDHI YONIM MAREECHEENAM PATHAMICHCHANDHI VEDHASA;’.

(Purusha suktam).

Learned people know his birth. They desire to reach his abode, ie.,

Paramapadam.)

It means that learned people who know his birth wish to get moksha. So,

Emperuman will not get stuck up in samsara just like chethanas . It will be

proper to treat his birth as an Avathar born out of his sankalpa.

There are more proofs to validate this view point.( Too much of

authorities/proofs will dampen the tempo of the posting. So, let us proceed to

the next step

 

When does the Avathar take place? Is there any time schedule?

 

 

 

AVATHARA RAHASYAM ( 3)…( Time) (PURPOSE)

 

Sloka 7 of Chapter IV of Srimad Bhagavat Gita gives the answer.

 

There is no exact time limit. for his Avathar. In the case of Chethanas when the

reactions of their actions (i.e., Punya and Papas ) mature enough to culminate

in a birth he has to be born.

In the case of Emperuman, the Avathar is on his determinations only. Such a

condition should prevail for an Avathar.

They are:

(1) Whenever Righteousness (Dharma) drops down or get decreased

(2) Whenever turpitude is on the increase

 

The Lord determines to take an Avathar.

Another doubt may arise.

 

Does the Lord take Avathar to endure /enjoy the results of his previous

Avathars?

 

NO. Such a contingency never exists.
