Guest guest
5 SRIMATHE RAMANUJAYA NAMAHA: APPAN THIRUVADIGALE SARANAM Dear Baghavathas, Accept my pranam. This is in continuation of earlier posting AVATHARA RAHASYAM (5) (BHAKTI / PRAPATHI Now , we may consider the two types bhaktas. One Bhakti Nishta and another Prapanna. Who ia Bhakti Nishta ? Now a days the word “Bhakti” is used freely to mean any form of worship by any body But, Bhakti Yoga or Nishta has certain pre conditions. It goes in the order Karma yoga/Gnana Yoga/ Bhakti Yoga. Bhakti yoga can be practised by the first three castes only ( ie., Brahman, Kshtriya and Vaisya) and that too by Male members only. The practioner should do his daily chores( Nitya karmas ) without fail. He cannot fail to observe them. Similarly other duties (Naimithika karmas) also should be observed. All the duties are to be observed properly in the time, place, and as per the rules regulations pertaining to that karma. Failure to do so will be treated as an offence for which he will have to do compensations. With this set of conditions he acquires knowledge on Emperuman. As his knowledge grows it results in Bhakti towards the deity to which he is attached. The Avathara rahasyam becomes an essential part of his knowledge. Also he should have absolute faith in it Who are Prapannas? ALL irrespective of caste, gender are eligible to be Prapannas. There are no pre conditions. They should have faith and intense desire towards Emperuman. Let us see the relevant portions from SriVachana Bhooshanam. (There is no condition regarding place, time, procedure and persons to whom it is applicable. It is concerned about the object only. In the case of Karma it requires certain conditions are to be fulfilled such as: sacred place at which it is be performed, the appropriate time such as Vasantham etc.,., appropriate rules to be observed , by whom it should be observed etc., When Vibhishanan approached Sri Rama to surrender no condition was considered. ‘THIS IS THE TIME AND THIS IS THE PLACE’ Such was the consideration. Likewise here also there is no condition for prapathi. This point is explained well in the first word of “Dwayam”(Mantra ratnam). The object is the only consideration. That is the object which is to be worshipped should be complete in all respects.(Gunas). This aspect is satisfied in Archavatharam. Azhvars got engrossed in the love for Emperuman in various forms (Avathars) in Archavatharam only. It is ABSOLUTE BECAUSE ALL QUALITIES ARE FULL HERE,. Qualities such as easy accessibility etc. are like a bright lamp in dark room is required, for Prapathi. Emperuman has come down shedding off his greatness and free will to protect even those who do not care for Him. That is in Archavatharam. Anthayamithvam is like water hidden under the ground. Parathvam is like Avaranajalam.( Seven seas are said to surround the Universe, in puranas.) Vyuham is like Milky Ocean not easily accessible. Vibhavankal ( Avatharas in the Past) are like floods that have dried out. Archavatharam is like pools that are left out during floods The persons who are deeply immersed in sensual pleasures and they could not be redeemed by sastras. are attracted by Archavatharam.
