Dear Bahavathas, Accept my pranam. This is in continuation of earlier posting.

 

 

 

AVATHAR RAHASYAM (6) DIVINE DEEDS.

The essential quality of Prapanna is to have absolute faith in Avathara

rahasyam and he should not make efforts of his own for his redemption. He should

consider himself like Achethana totally dependent on Emperuman.

Those who understand the divine deeds of Emperuman get released from the ties of

samsara and are not reborn. One of the divine deeds of Emperuman is the episode

of Yasodha’s experience with Child Krishna.

Yasodha wished Emperuman to be her child. He was born to Devaki; but was

brought up in Gokulam as child of Yasodha. She was very proud of Krishna.She

will not tolerate any body complaining against him. But, when Gopis complained

to her about the theft of butter by Krishna she got annoyed. She decided to tie

Child Krishna to a stone mortar and keep him with in her view. But, the rope

available to her was very short and thin. Not only that. Small bits joined it

with knots. It was not enough to tie him with the mortar itself. With profuse

sweat all over her body and breathing heavily she laboured. Lord Krishna took

pity on her and adjusted his body in such a way that she could finish the job

and at the same time exhibited a frightened look tending to weep.

Yasodha as if she had triumphantly done the job looked at Child Krishna as if

challenging him to set himself free if he can.

This episode is described in TVM 1.3.1 beautifully.

Pathudai Adiyavarkeliyavan. : shows His ‘Soulabyam’ (easy accessibility) and

“Souseelyam”(Greatness). A great person letting him down to the status of an

ordinary person and at the same time mingles with them as if he is one among

them. Yasodha could not tie him. He allowed her to tie Him. This is the Divine

Karma. (Chestitham…Leela)

Madhurakavi Azhvar Exclaims ‘ KANNI NUN CHIRUTHAMBINAL KATTUNNPANNIYA PERU

MAYAN’

Small and sincere affections, can bind him. He will allow himself to be tied.

Kattunna panniya :. He loves it. He makes you to do that. Perhaps you may think

that you are doing..just like Yasodha. He loves that too.Because they are his

dear devotees He has taken Avathar to mingle with them at their request. This

kind of actions may not be possible in Paramapadam. Further they are cowboys,

very simple folks. They want company of the Krishna in this world. Andal also

mentions in the famous Thiruppavai. “Kuraivuonrumillatha Govinda unthannodu

uravel namakku inku ozhikkaozhiyzthu”

“ Nee kurreval engali kollamal pokathu”

“erraikkum ezhezh piravikum unthannodu

Urreme yavom Uneakke aadchyvom”

 

So, THE PERU MYAN.. Who can do wonders consents to their desires?

Suka Brhma Rishi observes that whoever understands and enjoys this Divine deed

gets released from samsara... .

Nammazhvar wondered. ETHIRAM ! URALINODU INAINTHIRUNTHU ENKIYA ELIVE ! How

strange !Emperuman has consented to be tied to the mortar. Not only that he

adjusted himself suitably for that act and How Simple He is towards His

Adiyavarkal.

Nampillai comments in Eedu for this TVM.

 

‘ SAMSARABHANDHA STHITHI MOKSHA HETHUVANA THANEERE IPPADI KATTUNDU IRUKKIRAN;

IRUKKIRATHU’( He is the cause for samsara bandham, protection and release. Now

He himself has got bound .. He ties and releases Brahma and others by his

sankalpa; but, now a simple lady has bound him. One who understands his divine

deeds do not take another birth. To make this statement true he has got bound

for us)

This is one of his divine deeds. Azhvars have sung in praise of his divine deeds

profoundly and profusely. All these are possible because he has taken Avathars.

Because there are Avathars We have many forms of Archa moorthies for worship.
