Dear Sri Vishnu, I had been to Thirumala on August 1st and had the bhagyam of attending the Satthumarai on two days. There is no such rules that people without SikhA cannot participate in the Satthumurai on Thirumala. The rest of the rules remain the same except that they are followed more strictly. HH Sri Thirumalai Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swami himself coordinates the process of filtering the people without proper lakshnam (Beg everybodys pardon, I couldn't find a better word to convey this). This is also to stop people other than SriVaishnavas, who pose as SriVaishnavas just to get the darshan of Lord ThiruvEngadamudayAn. Of course, there are lot of improvements in the way the Satthumarai is conducted. All due to the efforts and blessings of HH Sri Thirumalai Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swami. 1. Earlier all the Srivaishnavas who were allowed to attend the Satthumarai had to rush in. But now the Srivaishnavas are allowed inside the temple well before the start of the Satthumarai. 2. Also the Satthumarai commences only after all the Bhagavathas have assembled in the Sannidhi. 3. Earlier the archakas used to close the screen even before the Satthumarai concludes, but now they are closing it only after all the Srivaishnavas had a proper sevai of ThiruvEngadamudayAn. Also heard that all these improvements started happening only after Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami won the case against the Thirumalai Thirupathi Devasthanam. adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan, ____________________________ T.V. Can someone check with their relatives in Tirupati and write back?
