Sutra. 110. Perhaps it may be due to his acceptance of Emperuman as expressed in

Thiruvaimozhi. (below)

(VITHEN MATHIYAL ENATHULLAKATHE…TVM.8.7.10)

“Kept Him in my mind by my will”

(YANUM EN NENCHAMUM ISAINTHU OZHINTHOM…Periya Thiruvanthathi.26)

“My self and my mind have accepted”

These actions are in accordance to His actions. It is not of my own will.

(ISAIVITHU ENNAI…TVM 5.8.9)

Sutra.111.There are some actions; unintended; yet, Emperuman takes these things

as pretexts to help bhaktas. This may be the case in respect of Azhvar also.

The words mentioned as pretexts are not (1) intentional (2) cannot be considered

as sufficient to give results equivalent to what has been given to Azhvar.

Sutra.112. Then, why should Emperuman bestow his grace on Azhvar?

Sutra 113. There should be some reason for bestowing his grace now why it was

not granted earlier? Is it not possible to adduce some good deed as a reason?

The replies to these two sutras are. (1) There is no specific deed by which

Emperuman has bestowed his grace now.(2) It can be said that Azhvar belongs to

Emperuman and now by fate he has to be redeemed from samsara by Emperuman .He

simply bestowed his grace . That is all.

(“Verithe Arul cheyvar”) (“Varavaru onru illai”) (“Thaniyen vazh Muthale”)

Sutra.114.The bhakti created in Azvar by Emperuman is not based on any reason It

is not like the bhakti as a result of karma and knowledge of a devotee.

“Mayarvara Mathi Nalam arulinan” The same kindness made Emperumant to grant him

Paramapadam(” Aara Anbil Adiyen un Adi ser vannam Arulaye”)

All these Sutras certify to the Nirhethuka krupai of Emperuman.

Epilogue: The entire Thiruvaimozhi is full of Emperuman’s actions favoring

Azhvar without being asked for. The very first Pasuram TVM1.1.1 gives the

information”MAYARVARA MADHI NALAM ARULINAN

and in the last TVM 10.10 “EN AVA ARA CHOOZHNTHAYE’.as both are the acts of

Emperuman

On some pretext Emperuman bestowed his grace to Azhvar . Even if the statements

of Azvar may be lies.

(“ KAYYAR CHAKKARATHU EN KARU MANIKKAME ENRENRU

POY YEE KAIMMMAI CHOLLI PURAME PURAME YADI.”

MEYYE PERRU OZHINTHEN” TVM 5.1.1)

(THANE INNARUL CHEYTHU ENNAI MURRAVUM THAANANAN.’..TVM

5.1.10)” He himself graced me and merged with me”

Why Emperuman should do like that?

Because He used Azhvar as an instrument

“ ENRAIKKUM ENNAI UYYAKKONDU POKIA

ANRAIKENNTHANNAI THANNAKI ENNAL THANNAI

IN THAMIZH PADIYA EESANAI AATHIYAYEE

NINRA EN CHOTHIYAI EN CHOLLI NIRPENO”

It is not the songs of Azhvar. It is all of Emperuman, exposed through Aazhvar

“EN NAAMUDHAL VANDHU PUKUNTHU NAL INKAVI

THOOMUDHAL PATHARKKU THAN THANNAI CHONNA”

Emperuman occupied the tongue of Azhvar and sang Pasurams to expose himself to

his bhaktas.(TVM.7.9.3)

All these verses go to prove the statement in Sutra 70 of Srivachana Bhooshanam,

“PRAPTHAVUM PARAPAKANUM PRAPTHIKKU UKAPPAVANUM AVANE”

(Emperuman is the owner of all. He is the one who gets back his property (Here

Jeevathma). He is the person .to be happy over that.

Such is the observations of our Poorvacharyas of Emperumanar Dharsanam. All the

statements in “ACHARYA HRUDHYAM” are supported by relavant quotations from

Thiruvaimozhi and other Pramanas.

So, there should not be any confusion on the part of followers of Emberumanar

Dharsanam over “Free will “and predetermination.
