Guest guest
SRIMATHE RAMANUJAYA NAMAHA -2- APPAN THIRUVADIGALE SARANAM Dear Baghavatha, Accept my pranam. This is in continuation of Earlier posting. # It is understandable that Emperuman is the one who redeem the chethana from Samsara; but, chethana is also a part of the whole process. The chethana has the role of ‘doer’, ‘knower’ and ‘enjoyer.’. He can make some effort for his redemption. Should his role be undermined? Why should be kept away from putting some effort.? If the basic nature of relations between Chethana and Easwaran is understood clearly this kind of doubt will not arise. ..The swaroopam of Chethana is dependence and servitude to Emperuman only. This is the important factor that differentiates him from Emperuman though both of them have Knowledge as basic character The dependence (Parathantharyam) is a natural condition of Chethana and independence (Swathantharyam) is against the very nature If the quality ‘absolute dependence’ of chethanan is understood properly, he will keep away from making efforts of his own accord. for his redemption. If the character of servitude is understood properly, the thought of chethana’s act for his benefit will vanish. The thought ‘Independence” is the result of the self recognition ”I” (AHAM) AND ‘Mine” (MAMAHA) . The reason for this effect is the ignorance and arrogance of chethana. The influence of these qualities will keep the chethana bound in samsara forever. Emperumanar had to visit Thirukkoshtiyur Nambi several times to learn “Thirumanthram’which explain the real position of chethana. Periyazhvar has shown the position of chethana in ‘Thirupallndu’..”Thirumale Nanum unakku pazhvadiyen’ The servitude to Emperuman is from the very beginning. Similarly, the service is to Emperuman only.”Unakke naam aadcheyvom’ The thought of ‘I”(AHAM)and ‘I can do’and service to others are later additions to ‘Athma’ due to ignorance. If the arrogance”AHAM’ is wiped out Atma will be known as ‘Adiyen’ ( The thoughts under Sutras. 74 to 77 of SVB have been abridged here). # Are there any example to support the above view? Seetha Piratti could have saved herself from the clutches of Ravana .But, she refrained from any such action and wished Sri Rama should redeem her from Lanka. She patiently waited for Rama to complete his mission which act resulted in name and fame for both. Droupathi initially attempted to save herself from disgrace when she was treated cruelly in the court of Duryodhana. She called for help from all quarters. Later she surrendered to Lord Krishna raising her both hands up for rescue. Thereafter she did not worry at all of the results. # What is the advantage in preferring Siddhopaya (Prapatti) to other Upayas? It may take longer time ( \or it cannot be predicted as to when) if other means(Upayas) are adhered to. In Siddhopaya Emperuma is the key factor. Hence, there will not be delay in getting results.
