Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe Ramanujaya namaha Sri Vara Vara munaye Namaha SRI ALAVANDAR VAIBHAVAM-4 All the twenty sishyas of Aalavandar were great scholars and involved themselves in the spreading of our sampradayam. ManakkAl Nambi then instructed Aalavandar to meet an acharya named Kurugai KAvalappan and learn one another rahasyam from him. Aalavandar then asked Nambi, to explain more about that rahasyam and enquired why he didn’t know the same. For this Nambi replied, “when your grandfather Nathamunigal wanted to teach the Yoga rahasyam to my Aacharya Uyyakondar, he refused to learn that saying “pinam kidakka manam punaralAmA ? sarEravasana dasaiyilE AbyAsikka amaiyum” and hence he explained that he couldn’t learn the same, from his Aacharya. Thereby he instructed Aalavandar to learn the rahasyam from Kurugai Kaavalappan, as per the commandments of his grandfather sriman Nathamunigal. When Nambi was staying in Srirangam, rejoicing the way Aalavandar was taking care of the darsanam, he had five sishyas under him namely, Aalavandar, Deivaththukkarasu Nambi, Komadaththu Thiru Vinnagarappan, Siruppulloorudaiya pillai and Vangipuraththu Achchi. Then, Nambi continued to give his divine arthas or meanings to his sishyas and continued spreading the sampradAyam until his final days. In his concluding days, he told Aalavandar that, since he had both sareera and gnyana sambandam (relationship) with Sriman Nathamunigal, he advised to consider him, as both prApagam (path) and prApyam (goal) and to develop a sishya like Aalavandar to establish the darsanam and to stay in Srirangam throughout. He then meditated on the holy feet of his Acharyan, Uyyakondar and attained paramapadam. Nambi, thereby satisfied the wishes of his Acharya (Uyyakondar) as well as his paramAcharya (Nathamunigal). By the demise of Nambi, all sishyas including Aalavandar, were grief stricken. But, they later on consoled themselves and Sri Aalavandar continued to perform the final karmas like BrahmamEdam to the demised soul. ManakkAl Nambi Thirunakshatram (Birth Star) - Maasiyil Magam.
