APPAN THIRUVADIGALE SARANAM.

 

Dear Baghavathas, Accept my pranam.

 

8th November is the Thirunakshatram of Sr.Manavala mamunikal.

 

It will be celeberated in a fitting manner everywhere.

 

Let Adiyen submit a few lines on this happy occasion.

Sri.Manavala mamunikal is considered as ‘Punaravathara of Sri. Ramanuja.

What is the reason?

 

Sri. Ramanuja consented to lead and propagate Srivaishnavam as desired

by Sri.Alavandar.It was the wish of Sriman Natha munikal also,

who was enticed by the renderings of Nammazhvar.

 

Sri. Ramanuja had a kind and large heart.

He desired ALL should reach Paramapadam. It is the desire of Emperuman also.

 

Sri. Ramanuja had to struggle through out his life in fighting opponents. He

wrote SriBhashya (commentary on Brahma sutra) for this purpose.

 

He made Thirukurugaipiran pillan to write commentary on Thiruvaimozhi.

He appointed Sri.Bhattar as his ward in propagation of Srivaishnavam.

His successors ‘Poorvacharyas’spent their life time in “Bhagavat Vishayam”

i.e., Thiruvaimozhi and Arulicheyals of Azhvars.

This traditon was inturupted by Islamic Invasion.

 

Just like Azhvars Arulicheyals were lost to the world at the time of

Sriman Natha minikal, now also it was lost to the world again It was

maintained by a few interested people.

 

But for Sri.Manavalamaminikal we would have lost it forever.

He brought back the tradition as per the wish of his Acharya Thiruvaimozhi

pillai.

He rendered ‘Kalashebam on Bhagavat Vishyam’ before Lord Ranganatha for one

year.

He took part in the construction of temple for Sri. Ramanuja at

Thirukkurugur and a village called Ramanuja chathurvedhi mangalam with his

Acharya.

He has made a beautiful stotra “YATHIRAJA VIMSATHI’on Sri. Ramanuja.

He is known as YATHEENDRA PRAVANAR.

All these have happened at the behest of his Acharya.

Thiruvarangathamudhanar has shown in his Ramanuja Nooranthadhi.106

exhibited this feature.

The geatness of Sri.Manavala mamunikal is to maintain the tradition of

Azhvars exposed by Sriman Nathamunikal.

 

Let us keep up the tradition and celeberate the Thirunakshatram

of our Beloved Acharya Sri Manaval mamunikal.
