Guest guest
Dear respected memebers Please accept my namaskarams. I have been reading the book The Srivaishnava Theological dispute by Patricia Y Mumme and interestingly i find that this book is mentioned by a member of this group. I find the book very fascinating and the author goes to great lengths to emphasise the fact that both the aacharyas, Vedanta Desikan and Manavala Muni did not envisage of forming separate kalais. I have to admit that after reading the book i still am not clear about how and when exactly people started talking about separate kalais. I also have a couple of other doubts which i would like the memebers to clarify. 1) If prapatti is not considered as an upaya and is against the swarupa of the soul then how does one 'initiate' prapatti according to thenkalais? Is samarshayanam not considered as an 'action' among thenkalais? 2) If sri is considered as a jivatma, how is this jivatma different from others. i request the enlightened members to clarify these doubts adiyal geetha
