Guest guest
srImathE rAmAnujAya namah. The authorship for the first two lines of sARRumarai, "sarvadEsa dasA kAlEshu.." is usually attributed to periya jIyar. The name "periya jIyar" is sometimes attributed to svAmi nanjIyar, who succeeded svAmi parAsara bhattar as the leader of rAmAnuja sampradAya followers. Given that svAmi nanjIyar is only one generation removed from svAmi rAmAnuja, it is entirely plausible that he did write the "sarvadEsa dasA kAlEshu" slOkam. On the other hand, one can also make the case that the entire sARRumurai kramam was brought into vogue by svAmi maNAvALa mAmunigaL. {The slOka starting with "sriman srIranga sriyam anubhadravAm.. " is attributed to svAmi rAmAnuja himself. Also, the verse "rAmAnujArya divyAgnya" is attributed to kandAdai aNNan. This, most probably is kOil kandAdai aNNan who lived during svAmi maNavALa mAmuni's time}. If that is the case, then the slOka "sarvadEsa.." could have been blessed by svAmi maNavALa mAmunigaL Himself.
