ANdAL, Why is she considered higher than our 10 Azhvars?

There are so many points to answer your question, (some devotees have put some

nice points already)

adiyen will write a few that will address your question as well.

 

1: Andal is the Avatharam of Bhoomi Peratti

Naturally Lord's Wife is definitely higher than ALL others.

(Is needed will provide details for this)

 

2: She established the Acharya Nishtai

=======================

a: Always addressed as Periyazhwar's daughter

b: Taught us: For Mokhsa, Acharya Sambhanda is Unfailing (Nacchiyar Thirumozhi)

c: Thiruppavai (NarayanaE....Namakke parai tharuvan), Here the NarayananE

Sabdham points to Acharya only

(This comes in Swapadesam, Acharya Mulama Moksham)

 

d: Periazhwar penpillaiyai (Periyazhvar's daughter (Also Sishya) always in

UpadesaRatna Malai (22 & 23)

She is addressed by Swami Mamunigal as Periyazhvar's daughter & Azhwar

Thirumagal.

As that is what is her ThiruVullam (she would like)

 

Given all this and the fact that she is Bhoomi piratti, you would want to have

Thiruppavai as the 1st pasuram in 4000 DP,

but Even Bhoomi pirati, wants her Acharya's work first,

Though there are many other reasons, this is another reason for why

Thirupallndu is 1st in 4000 DP,

 

3: She always showes compassion to all Jeevas (always includes other jivas in

all)

She says NamakkE parai.. (She never says Enakke in any place)

Unnod Uttome yovom unake namatcheVOM (Plural, includes all)

Mattrai NAM kamangal (again NAM: plural.......

Kudi Irundhu Kulirndhu .......

 

In every place she always includes other jivas

(for Andal all are devotees of lord.

PS: sonner or later we become his devotees only.

 

4: She never spoke derogatorily about anybody (Yaraiyum dishtika mattaL)

Other alvars occasionally spoke lower about other devathas

What Azhwars said may be 100% true but they spoke lower of other devathas,

which will go to lower their (Other Devathas and their devotees) importance

Atleast the devotees of those devathas may feel hurt

 

Andal has never done THIS. (Even those other devotees and devathas are HIS

property)

 

5: Vaikuntha van bhogam thannai egazthnthu (UpadesaRatnaMalai, 22)
