Adyayana Utsavam at Srinivasa Temple AURORA, Illinois, 2002

The Adhyayana Utsavam celebrated at Sri Venkateswara Temple,

Aurora from 20th to 29th December 2002 was an blessed and unique occasion,

that all the participating devotees were blessed to attend.

 

Though the Utsavam was conducted for 10 days,

Azhvars arulicheyal were all recited.

 

The Pagal Pathu with recitation of first 2000 verses of Nalayeram, the

Rappathu with recitaion of Thiruvaimozi and the Azhvar thiruvadi thozal

and the recitation of Earppa and Ramanuja Noorranthadi on the last day

were befittingly arranged.

 

The invocation with Guruparampara Dhyanam and Nysa Dasakam

in every session was appropriate to be emulated.

 

The arrangements for the procession (Yezhundarula pannudhal)

of Perumal with

Ubaya Nachimars and Nammaazhvar, Emberumanar and Swami Desikan

in the Utsava Mandapam was a treat for devotees.

 

The Alankarams especially Mohini and Vaikuntanathar alankaram

made by Archakas, S/Sri. Hunumath Prasad, SubhadrAchar,

Srinivasan & Narayanan captivated the devotees.

 

The special pushpa kainkariyam everyday

by Mrs. Chitra S.Madhavan added granduer to the Alankaram

of Perumal, Thayar, Azhvar & Acharyas.

 

During the Adhyayana Utsavam, the Lord hears the

Nalayera Divya Prabhandams of Azhvars in the company of

His Consorts and all the Azhvars and Acharyas. During this

festival no other festival or any other activity is conducted.

 

Thus the exclusiveness of this festival. The celebration of

Adyayana utsavam enhances the prestige of the Temple in as

much as the Temple is qualified for the noted Ehis (Jeeyars)

and Acharya Purushas will be inclined to partake ThirthaPrasadams.

 

The presence of Nammazhvar and Bhagvad Ramanuja

in the temple is testified by the celebration of Adyayana Utsavam.

 

Special Kanthi (Brightness) with a smile (punmuruval)

after witnessing the Ghoshti and hearing the lucid

prabhandams was conspicously noticed in the face of the

Lord by most of the Rasikas who participated in the Utsavam.

 

Knowing the significance of the Utsavam, devotees from

far flung areas like Milwaukee, Detriot, Nebraska, Denver and Iowa

attended the utsavam and participated in the Ghoshti.

 

Having witnessed Adyayana Utsavam in Chicago in 1998,

i had the previlege of rendering service to the

Lord by Chanting Arulicheyal (4000 Prabhandams)

 

The recitation of pasurams was of very high order

which one can notice at special DivyaDesams in South India.

 

My earnest wish and prayer to Lord Sri Venkateshwara is to

bless such festivals to be a regular feature with more and more

participation.

 

Special thanks to S/S R.Raghavan, Ranganathan, Mrs. Ambujam Devanathan

who have taken the initiative and interest in organizing the utsavam.

Thanks to the Truestees and the temple management for extending all

co-operation for the utsavam.

 

It was a pleasure to chant in the Ghosti with other Swamigals

S/S R. Raghavan (GraysLake), Venugopalan, Narayanan (Milwaukee)

RamPrasad,Devanathan (Indiana).

Thanks to all the Ladies who organized the prasadams

to Lord and also took care of all Bhagavatas on all 10 days.

 

Rendering of Music by Geetha Kesavan daily,

and assisted by Priya Venkatesan, TES Raghavan, Govingarajan and others

was enjoyed by Lord as witnessed by the devotees.

 

Dance was performed by Shubha Sadagopan and others

very nicely to the Lords pleasure.

 

Both the Music and dance represented the Araiar kainkariayam

in Srirangam.

 

Chicago community is blessed to perform these kainkariyams

We all Look forward many more utsavams

like this in the future and more participation

from all sections.
