Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe Ramanujaya namaha Sri Vara Vara munaye Namaha Sri ILaiyAzhwAr Vaibhavam-4 After the stunning episode with the divine couples, iLaiyAzhvar was left in the same state as Arjuna, after seeing Krishna’s vishvaroopa darshanam. ElaiyAzhvAr, being in the same state of mind, then asked emperuman, “By your utmost simplicity when you have already entered my heart, why are you still hiding, without revealing your thirumeni (divine body)? Then the thought filled ILaiyAzhwar proceeded in the “periya rAjamArgam” (Big Royal street) way and reached the temple of “thennatthiyoorar” [“thenatthiyoorva kayalinai keezh poonda anpAlan”. By now, iLaiyAzhwar realized the reason behind the disappearance of thayar and perumal, after thayar asking for water. Hence he began to do kainkaryam (service) to perumal and thayar, by bringing water from the roadside well for thirumanjanam (holy bath). Meanwhile in the camp of Yadavaprakasar, the other sishyas started asking about the whereabouts of iLaiyAzhwar to Govinda Bhattar. But Govinda replied, he didn’t know the same. Hence they started for an extensive search only to end up in futility. Everyone felt very bad and came to a conclusion that some tragedy has befallen to iLaiyAzhwAr and with sorrow stricken minds they proceeded with their journey. They then reached the banks of river Ganga and had their holy dip in the river. Days passed, one day, while Govinda bhattar was performing agamarshana snanam a shiva lingam came and stuck to his hand. Surprised with the sudden turn of events, Govinda showed this to his guru Yadava prakasar. On seeing this Yadava prakasar became extremely happy and remarked, “Govinda! Since you already have some divine grace and now that you have completed the divine bath in Ganga, lord Gangadharan himself has come to stay in your hand”. From this day Yadavaprakasar started showing special interest in Govinda and everybody began to call him by the name “Ullam kai konarNtha nAyanAr” (nAyanAr, who has brought lingam in his hand). After that Ullam kai konarNtha nAyanAr returned to his birthplace mazhalai mangalam and consecrated the lingam, which he has got, after lots of consultations from various scholars and elders. He began to do daily poojas regularly. At the same time, kAlahasthinAthar wanted nAyanAr in his temple premises and accordingly instructed nAyanAr and the temple authorities. As per the instructions, all the authorities went to mazhalai mangalam and with all respects took nAyanAr to kAlahasthi and made him the prime incharge of the temple giving him the necessary identity ring. From that day onwards, nAyanAr stayed as a prime disciple and started doing services to kAlahasthinAthar.
